which CM case did you have and howd it die?!? oh yeea and which case are you gettin?
 
a modded cavalier. Hard drive rack removed, fan grilles removed, modded for two 120's, holes drilled all over for wire managing. innards stock except for a new floor, and the sliders painted gloss white.

Off the table it went, thanks to a sister who tried to smack a mosquito on it but instead, it fell off the table onto a floor 3 feet away. Not really dead, tons of scratches in the paint, a massive dent, cracked window, and the side panel doesn't fit on properly.


New case is an Antec P180.
 
the internals are still good and working properly i hope? btw, why not get a silverstone or old skool CM case?!

Yea, internals working great. If they weren't, heads would roll. I didn't buy all this for nothing. That, and I'm very suprised my 3 drives, just hanging out on the bottom of the case, survived without any damage.

Why not a silverstone or Oldschool CM?

I paid $100 for the P180.

The only CM's I can find locally are the Wavemaster LE ($169), Original Stacker ($210), and Praetorian I ($169).

The only Silverstone's I can find locally are the Temjin 02 ($109 and way too small), the 04 ($139 and one side panel + top panel non removable) the 03 ($309), the 07 ($361), and the TJ08 (mATX)

Which is why I made that decision.

Sorry no pictures of after, sister has the camera somewhere where I'm never going to find. Before though, search a few pages back. it's a silver cavalier with a red window. Soon afterwards, it was painted.
 
forums? i picked up my praetorian for $60 shipped with the window too :D but yeea the p180 should be nice

which heatsink were you using? imagine having something like a ninja or infinity mounted wen it fell :eek:
 
Thermalright XP 90 + shitty 92mm fan. One of the fan blades broke, so it's a great time to swap it.

I'm sure I'll enjoy my new P180.
 
a good time to get a new heatsinK! :p but damn your sis musta hit the case pretty hard, a comp with all the components is pretty damn heavy and would take a hell of alot of force to knock it over :eek:
 
Actually, just the fan is busted, but now I got a nice new fan on it. Antec Tri-cool.

And my comp sits right at the edge of the table. A simple nudge and it goes. No table room.


And in other news, I transplatned my pc into the P180, and then when I started it up, my maxtor hard drive caught fire. It's also a 200gb sata150 made in 2005.

Yup.

You know about the explding hard drive? same model as the one on dragonmodz (I think) which blew up. Same chip blew up.
 
Word in the abit forums is ~230$ , i can't believe that anyone could be so stupid to pay THAT price @ ZZF ...and the boards should become available in mid. September (source - abit Forum)

Sure ;) The purple light comes from 4 UV cathode light - 2*30cm, 2*10cm around the Aquatube ...

Gently used! It's the same one that fell off a table, but the damage really isn't bad. Just wipe off some of the permenent markers (was going to mod it, but then ran out of money) and it's almost like new. In fact, better than new.

you guys know that i have two ATCS-110, i bought the second because my first has quite some scratches :( and the other was pretty cheap too ;)

Now i'm selling the first but i'm from Germay so the international shipping would be quite expensive ... if someone is interested and has money to spend -> PM.

Well, I just like gerbils and hamsters and the window seemed so dull without one. And yeah, I go by hamstergirl and queengerbil online so I pretty much had to paint one on there, especially to show support for the future rodent revolution.

I will have to repost once I get that installed since quite a few changes will occure such as moving all 5.25" devices moved to the top to allow a 120mm in take to draw fresh air directly from the front of the case.
 
Thats a really nice case and overall appearance Bloodgod, it will look even cooler with that new cooler! Post some pics when you get the thing done!
