More like mid 40s @ 32x sorry about that guys

I went back to the profile and the setting did not stick , i decided to run 32x sli and 16af no TTRAA again and got in the 80's .I am not sure what is going on but it looks real good so the hell with it, hopefully the next driver will be more stable in the control panel for me.

Well i ordered and installed my plus two kit for my older PCv-2000b the kit upgrades you to a plus two.

I changed my front intake (custom intake at the top of the tower) to a 1200 rpm and swithced the exhuast near the cpu to intake and added the shroud. THe side exhaust fan perpendicular to the video cards pumps the heat out of the side.

Max load temps are 68 c versus 95 c
idle is 54c down from almost 70c

Cpu is 38 c down from 45 c
mother board temps are down to 38c down from 57C!:D

guess now its time to clean up the wires

Hey Jacuzz1

Glad to see you're enjoying your new side kit, like I said, it helps a billion.

If I may make a suggestion, upgrade the stock fans to aftermarket ones. Like my 120mm Coolermasters are soooooo quiet and do an excellent job at cooling...much nicer than the stock Lian Li ones.

Just a thought.

Good idea, I just might do that. It might not be worth it for me since my next move will be G80 black pearl (liquid cooled) Quad

A stock liquid cooled GPU  ???

You mean like that Sapphire Toxic X1900XTX?

ok, well... I'm really close here to jumping on the quad band-waggon.. might even order the cards today.. hrm.. I think this has been asked before, but how loud are the cards? my default 7900GT coolers sounded like electric trains on full-boar, so hoping that's not the case with the 7950GX2 coolers.

YEAAAA, eVGA has my old 7900GTX's. They received them yesterday, so I hope to have my 7950's by mid next week!

ok - good to know.. hrm... well, I decided to pay my credit cards down with that grand.. lol. but that's not to say I have depleted my funds.. but I hate buying things on Friday and having to wait until monday, or later to get them.. no Sat delivery from the egg anymore. At any rate, I will likely have another moment of weakness shortly and will buy them.. back when I do. :)

ok this is a really dumb question, sry guys

but does the 7950 take up 2 slots? or one? because i saw the pics he posted up on the begging page and it looked like it took up 2 slots on the case

2 slots, 4 for quad-sli

ok if u were to have quadsli wouldt that block the pci slots?

All the PCI slots, save one. You can run Quad SLi, and have room left over for a sole PCI device such as a sound card or PhysX card.

THANK YOU EVGA!!!!!! I now have tracking numbers for my new cards. They got them shipped out quick.

I just got my 7950's today from eVGA. So, far I am impressed. Running my lil' Dell with everything maxed out is nice. I'd imagine a "30 incher" would be incredible. Like I read, the drivers aren't optimized for benching yet. My previous 7800GTX 512's were a bit faster while benching. Under real world game play it is a different story.

Oh...from my earlier post above the 850SSI is plenty for the Quad set up. I was concerned that the fan would spin up on the PSU under load and get loud. So far the PSU fan is still quiet just as I like it. :D

edit: spellin'…but you knew what I meant.

Any board that support Conroe should support "Kentsfiled" AFAIK?
Coolaler from Xtremesystems.org, used the same board as he did for his Conroe AFIAK

That's the beauty of it, not need for a mobo/socket upgrade, just plug the CPU in and *BLAM* from dual-core to quad-core...

Take a look at the P5N32. nF4 chipset, supports Conroe, and the more recent models now OFFICIALLY support Quad SLi.

I say officially b/c I've heard a couple of stories of people who were getting erratic behaviour with Quad setups on said mobo.

jacuzz1 , I see you have your mobo upside down. Does the heatpipes on the mobo get alot hotter since they are upside down??? I really want to get that same case but I am affriad of all the heatpipes on the mobos now..

Well I have never had an issue , even with the Quad setup heat, The mobo hit 58c until I changed my fan configuration. Now its 38c.She was rock solid never the less. I am not an extreme over clocker so i cannot speak to that however it was pretty warm in there and she held up fine.

Finally got my second MSI NX7950GX2 and installed it.

So far I have tried HL2 w/ SLI16xTRSSAA and 16xAF @1920x1200 w/Gamma correct and Vsync on. The game pretty much stays pegged at 60fps with just the occasional drop to the low 50's. I am going to try a 32x in hl2 next, and then I will test a few more games.

So far it's pretty damn cool.

congrates, we need pics? more geek pron!! WE do not have any msi represented yet.

is there still a spec of visible jaggies on 16x AA ?

can i request screenshots of 16x and 32x AA, use a compression method that doesnt kill the IQ that much

I GOT MY CARDS, YEAAAAA!!!!!!!

This space is now reserved for pics!

All 3 boxes together:

The old box:

The new box (yea for free HL2:EP1):

The 2 new cards:

All 3 cards together:

Question if I were to get Quad SLI and use stock cooling, would it be ok? Or will it not be ok?

Because I can't water cool and they have not made aftermarket coolers for the 7950gx2 yet have they?

I got my quad SLI setup running... but I'm getting problems in games and aquamark. There's a black line going straight across my screen. It also moves up and down a little. Plus the image is shaky like my screen is vibrating. Rig is LP Ultra D, Evga + MSI cards. I'm using Forceware 91.45.
Could it be my LCD?
