I hope this is the proper sub-forum. I've had my 360 for almost 2 months, and this is the third time I've had this happen. Blue pixels appear all over the screen. When it happens, it happens almost immediately and does not go away until the machine is physically restarted.

Since it happens so quickly after powering on the 360, I can't imagine it is heat related. I've played through marathon sessions and the problem never surfaces. If it's going to happen, it happens almost immediately. From my experience, when GPUs overheat they display geometry artifacts, and not 'pixel' artifacts like this. Could this be a problem with my video RAM? Microsoft is sending me a replacement AV cable, and I'm really hoping that will resolve the issue. Right now it isn't a big deal, but I'm just worried the problem could intensify.

I've never seen anything like that, but since you've only had your console for two months, you are still well within the warrenty period. I'd wait and see what happens after you get the new cable.

Is is just related to one game?
Halo 2 used to do that to me occasionally. I'd finish a level and it was like a strange "ghost image" of the screen would stay onscreen until I rebooted.

Nah, this affects every game/video/demo when it happens. If you exit to the dashboard, you can still tell that something isn't right until you reboot

I think the dead are trying to communicate with you....especially now that you have dead rising

On my first Gamecube I dropped it and it did that from then on, I ended up having to go back to Wal Mart and replace it.

Hey Josh, ;)

I'll catch ya at work and talk more about it there with ya. I've seen something like it.

It's most likely the 360. I've seen this problem before (or at least something very similar). Swapping AV cables did nothing.

Looks like maybe some overheating. Mine did that a couple times in GRAW, then once I put it horizontal on a shelf by it self I havn't seen it again.
