High res monitor

Not sure if this is the right section to put this, but anyways.

I am planning on getting a viewsonic VX2025wm with a res of 1680x1050 however i don't think my card will be able to handle all games at this res, e.g. oblivion.

So my question is will games still look good when set to less than native resolution.

lol, you have an x1900? It'll look great. I run a 6800GS (overclocked, but still its old) and I have no issues gaming. I play some oblivion and while I cant max everything, its still pretty smooth.

edit - forgot, I'm also running the VX2025WM...great monitor!

For what it's worth, I play most games at 1280x800 on my VX2025wm with a 6600GT and it still looks fine.

With a X1900XT, you should have no problem running any game at 1680x1050. My 7900GT runs all games, including Oblivion, just fine at that resolution.
