Well they still dont have the E6600 in, but considering that I did not pre order, I put in an order at Buy.Com. They are selling the E6600 for 339.99, I also got the P5W-DH from there for 244.99 which is a bit cheaper or comparable to other places. Now who knows if they actually mean the 1-2 weeks. I figure of all the places people would think of to order from hopefully Buy.com isn't up there :) I really really wanted to order from ZZF, I have built all my pc's from them since they were googlegear back in the day. Unfortunately I am going to assume it will be next to impossible to get the E6600 from them. Just a thought to people still debating what to do, and who don't want to get gouged.

I went this same route after getting fed up loading up every site I could find to see if they had at least one of these two in stock. I figure at least I have the price locked in, no need to worry about the fluctuations anymore. I found a couple sites that claimed they had the board in stock, but none that I would trust trying to RMA something if it came to that.

I hope at least the p5w comes in a timely manner--then at least I can set up a cheap Celeron system to play with until I get my e6600.

It's been awhile since I've bought a system this new, I can't remember waiting on another launch that was this messy--but like I said, it's been awhile.

I did the same thing, ordered an e6600 and p5w dh from buy.com. I did this before things showed up on newegg and before this recent surge of availabililty at increased prices, when I ordered everything wasn't marked up very much yet but it was all out of stock everywhere I looked.

My order still shows up as "processing", I really hope that I have a place earlier in the line because I imagine a bunch more people ordered from them after they saw newegg's prices. I just hope that they reserved my spot in the queue, it would suck if I didn't get in line until after I am finished "processing". I sent them an email to make sure my billing is going through and I am in the line as early as possible to get one, but I worry, they havent replied yet and I hesitate to call them on the phone about this.

How long did it take your order to go through "processing"? I ordered around 3 PM (USA Eastern) on the 7th and it still shows as processing, I also ordered other things from newegg and zipzoomfly on that same day which are all in the mail right now. What I wonder is if "Processing" means they are having trouble with my billing, or that they are waiting on more stock before they bill me.

How does buy.com handle all this, has anyone gotten a core 2 from buy.com yet? This "processing" thing has me pretty concerned and I would really like to have an operational computer this month if at all posible.

They are on backorder or havent gotten them in yet, i know that for sure as I received an email from Buy.com when I asked if there was a chance of the OOS mobo holding things up. For now I am content in biding my time for a few weeks, but if I can score a 6600 for $360 or so I will jump ship...Im hoping that in a week or two companies will start to get decent shipments of the 6600 in. I also e-mailed my intel retail rep for teh region I work in and complained so maybe that will help turn up some clues.

Microcenter is shipping OEM e6600s for $359. I got overnight shipping and will be receiving mine tomorrow.

bubba does your order status still show as "processing" on the buy.com account page?

I am hoping that other people that ordered yesterday and today arent getting ahead of me because their cards were "processed" faster than mine, if that is the case I will raise hell on the phone, but before I do that I need to know if anybody who ordered these things in the past few days has their status as something other than "processing" yet.

Microcenter says shipping 7 to 21 days, even overnight. When did you ordered.

I have a store down the street that is owned by a friend of mine.
He gets $69.99 when he ain't got none.

I placed my Buy.com order on 7/3 for an e6600. At that time with a coupon I got it for $350 shipped. I made it to the sent to warehouse stage which is just basically the stage after your cc has been processed. They kept on sending me emails saying out of stock but that they were trying to get it.

Keep in mind that buy.com basically is a front for stuff on Ingram. Thus, when Ingram gets them and ships then buy.com probably will too.

I ended up cancelling my Buy.com order and going with Clubit for a retail e6400.

I got my 6400 for $250 shipped in my hands already. I was han't for preordering with Clubit but they got 6400 to me last Thursday. Great service!

Sweet, I just got my status updated to "Sent to Warehouse". So I gues I'm in the queue now, I sure hope it is ahead of all the people that went to buy.com after newegg's price hike. I hope every person takes as long to process as mine did then I would be ahead of that rush. I Guess all I can do now is wait and stare at all my other parts as they come in. I am building an audio workstation, I have been wanting this for a very long time, it is so exciting to finally get one! Should be really powerful and quiet, fanless 7600gt, e6600, p150 case, no chipset fans, guess I should look at a quieter cooler for the thing too, but that will be later, the stock cooler might be fine for me for a little while.

What is the quietest (dry) cooler for the core2(no overclocking)? I just need a balance beween size and price, and I need to keep some kind of airflow going for the heatsinks on the mobo. The p150 might not have very much room in it, else I would not hesitate and just buy a ninja.

Now I gotta save up $500 for some studio monitors, my summer money sure dissapated fast!

so the ninja fits, that helps,

I have since discovered that my issue won't be the case the case, I have one of those fanless asus 7600gt's with the big heatsink fin which hovers over the cpu cooler. So I am looking for a cooler with the fan pointing downward towards the mobo (like the stock one only less noisy and possibly cooler), so that the fan pulls some air through that gpu heatsinnk to help it keep cool. I also want to try and avoid using that chipset fan that comes with the p5w dh. I figure I could get away with 2 or 3 fans, 1 or 2 in the case, and this one blowing down at my mobo through some sort of aftermarket heatsink which is less noisy than the stock intel one.

At the moment I am considering this thermaltake big typhoon but it looks like it might just barely be too tall for the gpu heatsink to fit above it, I guess I have a little more than 10cm of space so it might fit, I'll have to wait and see once my parts arrive.

If you ordered on Monday then your order would have shipped out today (mine also gets here tomorrow). They must have run out of stock fast.

I preordered 7-3 and mine says sent to the warehouse. I preordered and used the 5% off coupon so my total was 342.00 shipped but I see that the price has dropped to 339.00 I wonder if I can get them to discount the discounted price?
