I just bought a x1900xt from newegg and I want better cooling than the stock cooler. I'm looking at newegg's cooling section and i see the vf900 and the fatality are about $6 apart in cost. I've heard good things about the vf900 and not much about the fatality (i'm sure its because it's over priced because of the player's name) but which is honestly better?

It's just a VF700 with a stupid name and jacked up price...simple as that. The VF900 actually works well without the name...imagine that!

So the different colored fins & different colored LED have nothing to do with someone wanting to "pay for the name"? The Fatal1ty can also spin alot faster right? 3500RPM

The fatality cooler won't cool any better than the normal vf900, but it definately will make you better at competitive online gaming.

Save your $6 and go for the VF900. The Fatality is just a glorified VF700.

TBH, I don't even know who Fatal1ty is. I couldn't care whos name is on it. I just see alot of people bashing it b/c of the name. They may be jacking up the price a little, but $40 isn't alot to many people and I can see someone spending extra money for getting a different color Zalman (fins/led)

I did the comparison on newegg and it said that about the 3500RPMs. I am into lifted trucks myself, so I am appalled by the ricer remark lol.

The thing is the Fatal1ty VF-700 at 3500 is less efficient than the VF-900 at 2500.

My 7800 used to idle well over 50C with fantastic airflo in my case (I think I had a bad stock cooler) and Load into the high 80's and low 90's. Get a VF-900 and it Idles in the low 40's if not lower if it is cool in the room, and loads to the mid 50's.

The 900 is sick, the fatality is a waste of cash.
