Mitch Jarvis that is one crizappy load of pictures. I think they are way to frakking big, too fricking blurry, too freaking similar, and too fucking gloaty. BUY A BETTER DIGICAM WITH ALL THAT MONEY YOU'RE ROLLING AROUND IN BEOTCH!1!!!

Okay, so my machines all suck, but I've got one sweet custom ghetto-modded briefcase laptop rig (1248x1536 pictures soon to follow once I find that goddam USB cable)!

How can this go in case modding ? This is just "look at how much money I spent on good but not quite the best components"

Grow up. The OP knows his first set of pics were horrible and that he needs to tune up his wire management. Noone's making fun of his favorite goat unjustly, so you can get off the cross now.

His newer pics are smaller and still high quality. Anyone not on a dialup line won't mind.

If you are gonna rip another person's rig you should at least have the courtesy to post your own for the same treatment.

Anyways...I am a little curious now. Obviously I get the point that you all hate Monster Cable and I am a n00b for purchasing it. No biggie. So, what other components did I make a n00b choice on? What should I have bought instead of said component?

Again, I was 110% confident with my purchases and IMHO each part is and was not a generic n00b company/make/model.
 
You even preapologized for the Monster Cables and said they were overpriced. Give yourself a break. Does the computer do what you want it to do and do it well? Do you have an upgrade path? Well then I guess you accomplished your "dream PC" goals.

Everyone has there own opinion, but I too like AMD, at least right now. I play games. Your rig doesn't seem like a slouch by all means, but if I spent like $5, 000 or more, like you apparently did, my gaming rig wouldn't have all the little nitpicky shit. It would have the best of the best hardware, period. Spending $500 on cabling for me is a waste. I would spend it on on another 7900 GTX.

Your cooling method for that CPU looks VERY efficient btw. What are your load temps?

BTW, congrats on your purchase, it's just what you wanted and you've built it the way you like for yourself to use not for others and bragging. And a little cable management always helps.

What about noise? At full load how noisy your machine gets?
 
looks excellent and clean, even the wires aren't that bad, they just need to be straightened up a bit. As far as the components, it is _your_ dream pc, so as far as I'm concered you could have gotten a 2.8 P4 and considered it a dream pc by your standards. Just because everyone else wants zomg quad sli and all sorts of other shit doesn't make your computer any less valuable. You built it with your taste in mind, and that was the outcome. I really don't know why everyone shits on Monster Cables either.. yes they are expensive, but every one of their products I've ever owned was top quality. I see you have a nice setup and put some hard work/consideration into it, and I can appreciate it. Good job.

By the way, English should be capitalized (I have a minor in English so I guess I am picky about such things even if it is not my "forte").

I believe BurnToast is the person who was flaming the OP in a pathetic way. Since the OP posted pics of his setup I wanted Burnt to do the same.

nice pc dude... i have the same case as you.. wire managment is the pain in the ass man... got some pic for my wm on that case (not the best lolz, but can get some more space to beath inside my case)

Directed towards anyone posting sentiments such as Toasts. Defending the OP is dragging this through the mud? LOL. I quoted your post beause you replied to me. If you read my post at being directed towards you I guess that is unfortunate but there is nothing I can do about that. If you were a bit more polite I might have apologized but now I just think you have a bit of an attitude problem. I don't see how you can justify what Toast said when you said his rig is sweet and you did not flame him as Toast did. I don't want to continue this thread crapping so I will step back unless you want to continue.

And I don't appreciate your knocking my GPA. It is hard for a person (mentally retarded) to graduate from a public university. You should applaud me and my valiant efforts. A wise man once said "Who knows for whom the short bus rides, next stop it might stop for you".

Nice specs, looks great. I know if I had the cash I would probably buy stuff like Monster cables too, just so I knew I had the best.
 
I'm not really sure if the Vantec fan/psu sound absorbtion gaskets work or not. I tried everything I could think of to make this machine quiet without using water cooling. So,...I cannot really recommend them...but I would still probably use them in the future just for peace of mind ;)
 
great rig you got OP.

you hanlde critcism(errr....bashing) well and are open to suggestion, i give ya props for that. at least you can you spent a ridiculous amount on your computer.

I had PC P&C mod the wire harness. They send you a diagram that you can modify and send back to them.

The fan...well, I did that myself because the stock fan was the loudest part in my computer! I seriously could not stand it. It almost made me feel like this PSU wasn't as good as the hype! ....but we all know that is not true. =)

I had to splice the proprietary fan molex connector onto my Panaflo which was the only difficult part. Also, I made sure to follow as many precautions as I could so I wouldn't kill myself (ie do NOT open up a PSU without doing research on the proper methods for working on them without dieing!)
 
I'll accept a Monster Cable power conditioner, but a power cable is a power cable. Anyone who thinks otherwise is foolish, and as they say a fool and his money are soon parted.
 
Yeah, nothing wrong with the power strip, but freaking over $50 for a simple power cable, thats just wrong. Monster cable makes some good overpriced cables, but you can make your own high quailty for a hell of alot less.

Could have done some hardware changes, like not get the elite pro, I doubt you will ever use all the features.

this is funny.... people are so lame, your PC looks nice and th 7900gtx is a nice card, better than I can afford.

you bought nice stuff, may not benchmark at the highest scores but it will still last 2-4 years and play most games at top quality.

your decisions were brand based, intel v AMD Nvidia v ATI and what not so people who have other preferences flame.......

its like coke and pepsi or Yankee's v Red Socks

I think most of us [H]ard forum members just need to step back sometimes and realize that PCs are not the most important thing in the wold and that our self worth and identity are not dependant on what [H]ardware we have.


get a girlfriend, go to church, get an education and grow up......... but still know how to have fun. Dont be the soccer Dad who yells at his kids coach later on in life,

dont take yourself so seriously.


Oh and nice PC and I really enjoy spending some time looking at rigs here. I ahve learned alot from this place.... So thank you for all the people who are constructive.....

I agree with adidas. Your pc is absolutely fantastic. You wont be able to tell the difference between that and an AMD SLI pc, and dont let some person on some forum convince you otherwise. That thing has more power (and a better upgrade path) than most amd PCs out there, including mine. GJ on the build :D
 
i dont get it, whats the use of posting pics in the case mod gallery if you screwed them up?? just learn how to use your camera and retake them
