ive heard some places are sending out the 6300s as early as today..have yall heard anything about when tankguys will be sending out?
 
My paypal account was recredited for some reason, so I ordered from zzf.

I remember Ben saying that it would be sometime next week, I assume its around the same time other retailers will start getting them.
 
On xtremesystems Ben said one of his better supplies said they "should" get them in next week.
 
I got an e-mail saying that they would have a better idea sometime tonight.

I very much want E6600 next week...should i pre-order it now from TankGuys, or somewhere else? Or should I just wait to next week and see if they are available anywhere else like newegg...whats a man to do! I want the chip now!

The more interesting bit of news is that he BEGGED me not to ship them until after the 7th, because Intel is demanding that nobody ship until then apparently. Thus, I would not expect any retailers to ship any more prior to that, lest they face the wrath of Intel. This certainly explains everyone giving the 7th as an ETA.

I'm curious if there will be any fallout from the few that have been leaked out so far.

Intel is really pissing me off requesting that retailers not ship them until the 7th.. wtf man!

But I love Tankguys. They are definitely my favorite etailer; I mean, what other site is telling their customers exactly what's going on?
 
Tankguys is great, they have been emailing everyone telling us exactly what is going on. Unfortuantely I got an email tonight saying that the E6600 can't be sent out until August 7th by Intel request. :(
 
So there is no way I can get the chip next week? And no reason for me to pre-order it?

Should I just wait and hold my breath...this waiting is going to kill me...I dont have another intel proccesor to put in mobo...so i have to wait for conroe or get something else.

Now I am totally confused.
Wasn't the launch supposed to be today?
Where did August 7th come from??
My previous "understanding" was that today would be the launch date for the chips, and that August 7th or 8th would be the first day that retailers like Best Buy, etc. would have systems with Conroe in them for sale.

Obviously, I missed something along the way?

Why would intel actually say they would have enough conroes then this occurs WTF no ones true to there words anymore.
 
No, today was the launch for the extreme edition core 2, the others were supposed to launch on the 7th.
 
Looks like TD and ZZF will "face the wrath of Intel." :p I'll have mine so its fine by me.
 
you guys have to understand why intel has instated all of this no shipping till a certain date "crap". july 27th was never suppose to be a release date for retail products. just the announcement of the procs and distribution to intels much larger and more lucrative OEM customers such as dell. this gave dell 2 weeks to start assembling their conroe machines to be released august around august 7th...

...noone was allowed to ship until this date because intel didnt want price gouging on these procs, by getting all e-tailers, retailers, brick and mortar stores all at the same starting line, it would make for better competition and less gouging since everyone will be selling...ie. you wouldnt buy an X6800 from newegg at 1400 when zzf is selling it at $1015... so if i were you guys i would say thank you to intel since in the end they saved you money...

They will have enough conroes. X6800 was released then a couple of weeks you will have the regular ones. You know why? They are trying to maximize sales of their XE6800 IMO. THere are those who will buy the XE6800 no matter what, and those who are on the fence but will by the X6800 just because they can't wait. It is those intel is trying to capture. Also that other stuff about the big box companies makes sense too.

That's why I will be sticking with my preorder I placed through them, even if it takes a couple days longer than if I ordered from Newegg.

QFT x 2, I sent an email to this effect to them actually last night :).
 
Well I have a feeling that we will get our stuff the same time as anyone who ordered with newegg because no one can sell until August 7th anyways.

I think so too, but even if they are a few days behind, I'm not going to care. They've done a fine job so far, and I've already waited a month, so what's another week or whatever.

The only thing I am not liking right now is that my preorder total is like $370 with 2 day shipping for the E6600.. I would probably be able to grab one at ZZF on the same day for a lot cheaper.

Yea, I debated that too, but I figured I'd stick with TG since they are one of the few places not trying to gouge everyone, and apparently cancelled orders cost them quite a bit of money, so I'll just deal.

I sure am looking forward to that 6600 though :D
