From the frontpage...

You are stranded on an island, we'll pretend you have power, a tv, consoles and a PC. Which 5 titles would you pick to take with you?

Well I would definitley need something that I could play for a long time and MMORPGs are all
about that so even though I have never played an MMORPG, my first choice would be WoW.

1. World of Warcraft

My second choice is a game I have played and that has tons of replay value.

2. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

This is my favorite game of all time and I racked up over 102 hours playing it through the
first time. All hail Sora!

3. Kingdom Hearts 2

The coolest and most fun FPS I have ever played.

4. F.E.A.R

A really old vertical scrolling blow em up flight game that I only played on my 75Mhz
Pentium 2 Acer Aspire. Tyrian. I got the game to run on Windows XP but not the sound of
the missles and explosions.

5. Tyrian

Assuming no intarweb.

I'd probably take conquest frontier wars, total annihilation, x3, joint ops, and probably gta san andreas or IL-2 w/ all xp's. All with every mod tool i could find.

'course, the problem really is... in 5 years, all this equipment is gonna crap out and we'll be left with coconuts and the smell of fish ass :D

The Gamespot editors chose games that required Internet access so I think we can too.

well if we have internet then

wow
can we rollback SWG to pre combat upgrade and ill use that one to :)
saints row for 360
dead rising for 360
i guess cs

1. WoW - I quit, but if I'm on an island, you bet your ass I'd be a raiding junkie.

2. Metroid - I could play this over and over again.

3. HL2 Deathmatch - Because I like blowing shit up

4. Guilty Gear XX - Because I like beating shit up

5. Megaman - Another game I could play over and over again.

1. half life 2
2. half life platinum
3. far cry
4. oblivion
5. if net connection, war rock open beta. if not, forza 2 on 360.

Just 1.. MS Flight Simulator 2004.. So I can fantasize about getting the hell off that damn island in a seaplane.. Now, if you are asking which 5 women I want to take, that would be different...

Starfox 64

Zelda : A Link to the Past

Zelda : Majora's Mask

Ghost and Goblins

Metal of Honor : Spearhead (with net)

1. BF1942
2. Freespace 2
3. Chromehounds
4. Dark Age of Camelot *can't belive im actually saying that*
5. Oblivion

tough one. but for me it would have to be.

1.NiGHTS into Dreams
2.Burnout: Takedown
3.Operation Flashpoint
4.Thief the Dark Project
5.Artificial Girl 2 (i'm assuming there's no women on this island ;) )

Total Annihilation
Desert Combat (BF42 MOD)
Diablo 2 LoD
Serious Sam 2
Everquest... ugh

If we have internet it wouldn't matter as I would just download new games as they come out :D

1. World of Warcraft: I have all day to play this? RAIDING TIME! Also gives me human contact so I don't go totally crazy.

The other 4 can be damned. WoW could last me until I convince someone in-game that I'm stuck on an island.

if we could rollback swg to pre cu that would be the only game id need

Ultima 7 Complete
System Shock
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Metroid
Ultima Underworld

1. World of Warcraft. I didn't really like it when I tried it, but if there was nothing else to do you can bet I'd hit 60 on all kinds of alts.
2. Morrowind GOTY edition. Hours of entertainment.
3. TIE Fighter Collector's CD. I played this sooooo much growing up.
4. Unreal Tournament 2004. Multiplayer goodness.
5. X-wing vs. TIE Fighter. Multiplayer X-wing goodness; I can't get enough :D

Lets assume you have no browser and Steam's browser and game downloader stuff is not working.

lol.. my thoughts exactly.

1) Mechwarrior (Collection)
2) Civilization (Collection)
3) TIE Fighter
4) Tetris
5) Command and Conquer (Collection)

StarCraft/Brood Wars - One of the best RTS ever, and my favorite game. So much replay value.
WarCraft III/Frozen Throne - Same as above.
Day of Defeat Source - My current favorite game, I'll never get tired of rushing to the enemy's spawn and kill everyone that comes out :D.
Counter Strike 1.6 - Classic online shooter, I never get tired of playing this.
Half Life 2 - Need a quality and decently long single player game, and this is the only game that came to my mind from recent times.

How come so many people put FEAR? I find the replay value of FEAR to be very low, not many people play the multiplayer and the single player becomes too predictable after the first time (same place scare, events, etc.).

I'd either trade the console for an internet connection and then buy Battlefield 2, Project Offset (even in its present state, whatever it may be), Call of Duty 2, Crysis and H-L2 (I can't stand the game or CS:S, but love The Hidden: Source), or i'd keep the console and make it my table or pillow or something.

1. BF2 (Yes, I play SP and fly around and stuff)
2. San Andreas
3. Final Fantasy 7
4. Civilization 3
5. Oblivion (Isn't this all you need?)

All games PC.

-> Half-Life 1.

This game will never die. It took me months to beat and get tired of the singleplayer game. Then I spent months on HLDM. Then OP4DM. (OK, that might be cheating just a bit...) Then TFC. Then CS. Then for a while it was Science & Industry. The for a while it was Rocket Crowbar. Then for a while it was Day of Defeat. Then I went back to SP and played They Hunger, Deliverance, so forth. You get the picture. I'm of course assuming mods are allowed. HL2 will likely have more great mods, but in my arrogant opinion the HL2 family isn't and won't ever be up to the standard set by HL1.

-> Diablo 2: LoD

Was much better back when it was in 1.09d, and back before I lost my CD key. But still. I wasted hours on this game, despite never actually finding anything good. Best thing I ever got my hands on in real terms was a Buriza do Kyanon, which was way better than that Kuko Shakaku I had before. (I always found the bows with the Japanese names... heh) I once found Aldur's Deception (elite set full plate IIRC), but nobody ever used it so it was pretty worthless. One of these days I'll go back to that game and finish what I started. But I'll need countless hours to do it, perfect for a desert island.

-> ES3: Morrowind

I still haven't managed to finish this. But it owns. Massively. And it looks a lot nicer than D2.

-> ES4: Oblivion.

Haven't actually got around to it yet, but i'll order it "off the drawing board" based on Morrowind.

-> SC3K Unlimited

Simcity 3000. Another game I spent years on. Has to be the unlimited version, I want the terrain editor and those European and Asian building sets.

In addition, I require two exemptions, namely Freecell and Minesweeper.
