Green lasers for pretty good prices : these are hand held and portable so they are not like those plugin ones.

www.northernoptics.com

if you email them they can give you a reasonable deal off retail price.

I wonder if any of these melt metal....That is affordable..

in order to melt the metal, you need to put more energy into the metal than it can dissipate.

Thermal resistance of the metal, thermal resistance of the metal/air boundary, ambient temperature, metal light absorptivity, and a whole host of other schtuff determines whether or not your laser will melt the metal. Suffice it to say that these lasers are at least a couple orders of magnitude on the weak side for that. ;)

The lasers from wickedlasers are illegal to own and operate, the ones being sold by many others are legal to own and come with the right safety precautions.

I was trying to be funny. I do not think they allow just anyone to purchase a 1500-2000watt laser. Plus like I said in my OP is if they sold affordable ones.... Plus if I want to know how lasers work, I can just google it.

the lasers from them are pen like lasers, you need the safety stuff on them for them to be legal, like safety key switch and a block on the end to stop the beam from comming out. the pen lasers any little kid could pick up and blind them selfs.
