Oblivion Multiplayer Mod in the works (PC only, obviously)

lol, deathmatch and capture the flag, eh?

this is pretty awesome though, there's some serious potential here. i may have to dust off my pc copy of oblivion and give this a whirl when it's available.

capture the flag in an area as big as cyrodill would be awesome with a huge group of people.

Eh, wont everyone be wearing the same armor and hacking away with the same swords/spells though?

I cant seem to load up the page for some reason, but unless they mod the armor/weapon system heavily it would get boreing real quick. Any info?

I would build another computer and force my wife to play with me if they added CoOp.

I always thought that TES, or any great crpg, would be a lot better if they had a small lan/over the net co op multiplayer to it. Not an MMO or anything, just a simple 1-3 player or such co op ability for you and a friend or two to play together, go through the dungeons/storyline together and such.

Err, doesn't every multiplayer game have the same uniforms and weapons for everyone?

This is the kind of stuff people were talking about when the game was released on why the PC version would be the one to get! Good job talented modding community :)

I hope this will be excellent! I can't wait to try it out, going to have a blast if it is ever completed.

Of course, never mind that Oblivion runs on XBOX 360's (no MODs ha ha) and computers that cost you a second mortgage, this news is awesome. Cooperative mode would be stellar.

Really? Oblivion runs just fine on my 2 year old PC with some tweaking. (3k A64, 6800GT)

This sounds pretty dumb. The engine itself cannot handle that many characters on screen at a time with smooth gameplay.

I think this is an excellent idea, and the fact that it's even possible is a great testament to the talent of the modding community.

I forsee a few problems with the idea though: If you're playing co-op and decide to do a quest together they would need to make it so that only one of the team members would have to talk to the quest giver, instead of both of them having to do it, and have it so that when you complete the quest both players get the reward.

Playing co-op with the Adrenaline mod would be excellent :D

put that together with the mod that makes it so that you do not have to load when you enter cities and dungeons, and your play area becomes VERY Huge, especially nice for multiple players :p

modding the game in order to support multiplayer is one hell of a job, if they can pull this of maybe they´ll get a contract from Bethesta. hehe

Just like with those who made Conter-Strike and Desert Combat. Bethesda says they always stand by single player RPG games.
