Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

Krylon Fusion spray paint. You must sand , sand sand, prime, sand, sand, sand, then paint thin coats and then clear. It took me three hours to get it done,, yes, 3!! It takes some patience and paint know-how or you can really mes it up. The mouse itself is no joy to get back together either!

ahh.im not good wid the paints...man i wish there was a place online that just sells the shell...for modding......thanks...though...

Hold tight a few weeks, I m getting good at airbrushing, I might do your mouse for free. I am trying to find the best paint for a mouse that will hold up to constant touching.

I rarely post on here but since I just cleaned up my desk and made it look half way presentable I figured I'd post some pics of my setup.. Nothing too fancy but I like it. Figured I'd give you a few different angles. Also, yeah I know I need a poster or something to go on my wall, I'm workin' on it :)

NICE but am I the only one that gets a little nervous seeing all that water so close to the electronics.

hahaha.. The tank is built by a pro.. Extra thick acrylic.. Only thing that's going to cause water spillage is if the whole tank setup crashes through the floor. And trust me, being on the third floor apartment if that happens I have much bigger problems than water next to electronics :) Thanks for the comments!

hey roper, what's that mini lcd on the side of the tank? its above the left UPS

Aquacontroller Jr... It monitors the pH and temperature constantly in the tank via probes. It also is a controller, which turns on/off different things in the aquarium based on criteria i program into it.. It's connected to a special type of power strip in the stand which is controllable by the unit. There are much more advanced versions of the aquacontroller but this one fits my needs for the time being.

Sorry, back on topic :)

I'm into saltwater tanks too, as well as computers and HDTV. I guess I like looking at flat panels into 'other worlds'. :p (and apparently I'm not the only one). BTW Those tunze stream pumps aren't cheap, I have two of those on a controller.

I'm in the process of redoing my basement entertainment room setting up a few new desks, and remodeling and setting up my reef aquarium. I'll post pics of the desks soon, and later on include the aquarium part alongside the one desk.

Ah, excellent a fellow reefer :) This is actually my first reef, but it's been in the planning stages for more than a year.. Still just bare tank with live rock but I've got pods out the wazoo.. Going to be getting a cleanup crew soon.

I too have the 7095 multicontroller for the streams, great little device :)

Where is that background from?

I put up that background myself. My 360 is connected to my Media Center laptop, but you can use any USB storage device and use jpeg pictures as backgrounds. Much better than paying for them on the live marketplace.

Also, roper, what type of desk is that and where did you get it? I like it.

You tried hooking up any game consoles to the 42" westy? particularly i'd like to hear how a PS2 looks on there.

I would take it off, but I am still contemplating exchanging for the 50'' Sony A10 instead,
so I don't want to lose the sticker haha. The original xbox looks pretty nice with
component cables. Xbox 360 looks amazing, because the "tv" is actually a monitor that
does 1080p. When using a computer, it is really nice because there is no need to adjust
for over or underscan. I am really happy, just wondering if I need/want the extra 8 inches
for a negligible downstep in quality. Must say though, I'm impressed with how far
Westinghouse has come in the last couple of years.

Pretty quiet.. I have never been super picky about noise, but honestly if I'm gaming or listening to music i cant hear it.. if it's just on and idle and no other noise in the room it is audible but not an issue at all in my opinion.

Roper how loud is that antec p180?

Just a 'bush furniture' desk I got from like furniture.com or something.. I personally would not recommend it as it is not very sturdy (you can see some bending in the middle).. I mean I haven't had any issues with it and I got it pretty cheap but I'd like something that feels solid when you push on it or whatever..

The sony A10s are definitely nice tvs although you do loose the benefit of having a higher resolution and no overscan (all RP units overscan). Although they likely offer a bit better image processing/scaling for SD signals plus built in tuners. Have you thought about going with the 47" Westinghouse?

Nice tank man. I just bought a custom 85 Tall with that same extra thick acrylic... Nice pumps you have there also. Tunez = awesome.

ok, back OT.. nice LCDs you have there.. heh :)

I definately like the 47", but I got this monitor for $1500 + tax, and I doubt I could swing the 47 for anywhere near that. You hit the nail on the head though, the no overscan action is nice!

Here are a few early pics of my new corner desk. I just assembled it last night. The monitors and desk are alot bigger than they seem to be in the pics. I had to stand way back to get the whole desk in a few shots. The wires under the desk are still a mess too. I switched which side I had the computer and subwoofer/amp on and made a mess of the wiring in the process. I'll get some electric conduit tubing to clean them up later.

I got it at Target a few years ago. Not sure if they still carry it. I like how it looks and all but it doesn't provide much lighting other than "mood" light ;)

That desk looks almost exactly the same as
this one. How do you like it? Judging by the fact that you have a 90lb FW900 on there I'm guessing it's pretty sturdy, is it?

I like the desk alot so far. It seems quite sturdy. One of the reasons I chose this desk was the central chamber 'pillar' for the support, and as you can see I have the FW9012 directly above that box-pillar structure more or less. Its centered above the left wall of the pillar-box. Another one of the reasons I bought this particular corner desk was that it was short enough to allow me to use the entire desk surface for my keyboard and mouse instead of using a keyboard drawer. I can use the keyboard drawer on the left side as extra deskspace or a 'book drawer' if I want to. The drawer is 24 3/4" long, or about 3/4 the length of that side of the desk so its a decent amount of surface area. The inners length of the 'side wing' desk surfaces are 33 3/4" to the center chamfer/facet area, which is 23 1/2" long. The wings are 19 5/8" wide each. The center area is about 27 1/2" wide. The top desk surface itself is 1" thick.
Don't forget the pictures seem to make everything look smaller than they are too. Anyone with a FW900 knows how big they are. ;)

I'm in the process of ordering parts for a small form factor (SFF) pc so my big full-tower case won't be on the floor for much longer hogging the left side. As for the middle, I put one foot on or in the compartment where the PC case is supposed to go, or if I'm sitting with my feet together I can put both feet on that compartment or straddle - meaning a foot on either side of the right wall of the chamber, or on either side of the whole chamber. No matter where I put my feet and legs its actually very comfortable and I like it better than just the floor.
I can still sit at the left side of the desk where the pc case and subwoofer are without having my legs cramped if I sit upright. That side would only severely cramp my legs if I slouched back with my legs shot way out, but as I said I'm replacing the full tower with a SFF pc soon.

hehe.. very observational. That is just a secondary door to my washroom. There is a door on either side of the central furnace/hotwater heater area. I use the other door (which is adjacent to the bottom of my basement stairs) all the time since the door at the desk opens to where my laundry chute dumps a pile of laundry and I keep laundry hanging, baskets, etc. I didn't feel like taking the door that I never use anyway out and drywalling and wallpapering the whole basement rec-room, it didn't seem necessary ;)

I might put a poster or wall hanging up there though.

This is it right now:

IMG_3999.jpg

1x Asus laptop with 15.4" widescreen 1200x800
1x Iiyama Prolite E481S-S 25ms IPS 19" 1280x1024
1x Acer AL922 25ms PVA 19" 1280x1024

And this is whats it's gonna be probably:
1x Asus laptop (i'll keep that :D)
1x 24" ViewSonic widescreen 1900x1200

(or a little chance on 2x20"...)

Is the keyboard drawer large enough to comfortably use the keyboard and mouse there though?
