Changing the DPI setting in desktop.....

Recently i bought my new 19" widescreen LCD and noticed that the words/icons on the desktop were kinda hard to read. I heard that changing the DPI (dots per inch) makes this much better. I looked in my desktop properties and my dpi was at 96.......so i changed it to 120 and everything is much clearer.

My question:

Is changing DPI going to show up in gaming applications.....or is it just a desktop thing? I'm assuming since i'm setting this in the control panel that it applies to everything.

Because I was wondering the same thing.

I use the higher DPI on my computer and the only thing it seems to change is text size in windows. Nothing has changed in games that i've seen.

Anyone else have input on this???
