wow. havent been on the forums for a while. but yeah,

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820148007
here's the ram i bought a while back. My mobo is the epox 9NDA3. I'm running the ram at 2.5-3-3-8 2T 2.7V. I seem to be getting a few errors when i run memtest, and i cant seem to avoid them no matter what i do. I've already flashed the bios and i've tried different slots. I always seem to get an error or two after an hour or so.

but, when i ran each stick one at a time to figure out which one was bad, they both didnt get a single error.... even after 5+ hours on each stick..

i need help on what else to try.. thanks in advance.

i had something similar happen to me when i was using the MSI neo2 k8n plat and 2x512mb Crucial ballistix. They would show errors in memtest in dual channel mode. But when i tested each stick seperately, they would pass.

I ended up returning the mobo for a new one and getting new ram. Either your mobo is fubar, memory is not compatible, or the memory itself is bad. I would get a new mobo, and new memory

set up a fan. i bet the ballistix are getting hot.

if you look at the sticks, there should be a little white sticker. does it say ".16TG" or ".8TD" on the end?

im actually trying to avoid buying a new mobo. and i can't RMA anything since i bought these a while back.

Eclipse. would they really need a fan? i always thought a fan was only necessary for 3.0V+ set ups. but i'll def. give it a shot. but yeah. the sticks are .16TG.

thanks guys.

Well, Eclipse is probably, for the lack of a better term, the Ballistix (among others) guru around these parts...If he's asking if you're running a fan on them, it probably means more like you *should* be running a fan. I've seen enough of his threads both here (and @ his own eclipseoc) to know that some Ballistix run hot, even at pretty low voltages. If you're like alot of us around here, you have a pile of spare parts to cull from, just use a spare fan rigged to blow into the sticks - what harm can it do?

Also, why can't you just RMA to Crucial? Assuming you did buy them @ NewEgg, you should be able to pull off an old sales order for proof of purchase - and RMA directly w/ the manufacturer..They do have a lifetime warranty afterall - as long as you didn't rip-off the heatspreaders or something.

hm. with the fan i got a single error on test#8 after 24 hours..

perhaps psu? its a pos thermaltake psu that i got for $20 on sale. still need help.. :\
