Building a new computer and changed my mind about going 939 so I would like some input on good am2 boards, I'm a big fan of Epox but open to other companies. I don't need SLI or any wireless features. Overclocking isn't a high priority. Thanks.

For a good solid AM2 mobo without any extra BS, I'd say go ASUS M2N-E at ZipZoomFly.com.

Thanks for the help so far. N H O, when is the epox board coming out and whats the pricetag look like?

*shrugs* no one knows, there isnt a release date for it but it sure does look nice :D

damn, that's too bad, looks great though :D

I'm thinking about the Asus M2N-E, has everything I need and price looks good.

well if you cant wait for the epox boards to come out, i suggest going with the tforce4 ;)

I am in a similar situation, but im in the uk so my only real choices are the MSI K9N Planinum, the ASUS M2N-E, and the Asustek M2V. Which of these would you say is the best?
Another question i have is that i would like to run an ide harddrive and a cd-rom drive, both of which use an ide cable, but i'm pretty sure that none of the listed motherboards have more than one ide slot. Is there anyway to run 2 devices on one?

I'd nearly suggest the MSI K9N Ultra.
its cheaper and if you don't need legacy ports like PS2 or a serial port then why not get it
its still using the nForce 570 chipset so its the same as the Platinum just nearly legacy free

well you can but its not advisable to run a HDD and an optical drive on a single IDE controller. you could always get a SATA adapter for your IDE drive!!!
Or just sell your drive and buy a SATA one.

So the msi motherboard is the one to go with?

I will have a 160gb sata as my main, but i would like to reuse an old ide drive to put vista on. Why is it not advisable to run two things on one IDE controller?
If it wont work i could always just partion my sata drive, but i would prefer to have two seperate drives just cause it makes me feel my data is safer. :)

An EPoX board that isn't green!?!
lol epox has a handful of intel boards taht arent green, but this is the first AMD one that isnt :D

i woudl recommend waiting 1 month. - price cuts on AMD and conroe :D then you have better choice and cheaper prices.

I think I'm gunna hold out for that epox board, looks sweet! Hopefully it will be out in a month, which is when I plan to buy.
