First Console since original NES!!!

So I picked up a DS Lite on Monday. Yes, it really is the first system I've owned since the NES  I got New Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Brain Age and Tetris DS along with it. The DS lite is great. The size, screens, weight all make for enjoyable game play. The games are extremely fun. Hell ya I got 99 lives on level 2-4 on Mario Bros. Mario Kart is addicting. Tetris is great, especially the touch mode. Brain age is a great challenge. I've played multi player for all of them and the best thing is you can play with someone who does not have the game via the download feature- too cool. The screen brightness is awesome, even in bright light. The lowest brightness setting is better than the original DS (compare w/ friends) Definitely get a screen protector to preserve its beauty. If your on the fence for purchasing a handheld system I would go for it, at least as far as the DS lite goes.

My first console was the Nintendo 64. I played Ocarina of Time nonstop and studied the strategy guide all through 3rd grade. The book was torn apart at the end of the year.

I just remembered the official Nintendo Power strategy guide for Ocarina of Time. I hated it because it read like a story: "Link walked to the bottom of the ocean using the metal boots and found the piece of heart hidden under the rock. Now stronger than ever, he was now ready to enter what would be his toughest challenge yet, the Water Temple."

Combat training? I was just giving birth to my second grandson... top that! :p

You were giving birth to your grandson? That...sounds like some sort of incest to me...

I was two. My dad got it for me (but he and mom's brother played it more than me :p )

Holy shit, I was in grade 11. I suddenly feel old.

Ha you feel old? I was just thinking "haha, that guy's an oldie, he was in grade 11 when....um wait I was in grade 11 then too....DAMN I'M OLD"

I've wondered before what it would have been like to go back in time and show off a DS back when the original Game Boy was all the rage (Look Ma! The background moooves!!)....

Anyway, I have an original DS (it's quaint already??), and I was that impressed with the DS Lite that I will get one soon.....I saw one at Target with New Super Mario Bros. in it, and the colors were so bold that I thought it was fake and it was one of those simulated stickers they put on the display like with car stereos and alarm clocks....It's that nice....Also the controls aren't stiff anymore and don't cramp up my hands after 15 min of playing....Get one guys!!

Since my thread has been hijacked I will attempt to get it back on track with this:
I finished all 8 Grand Prix races in Mario Kart at 50cc. Super fun. This is a must have game in my opinion. The DS Lite was released just in time for me. Work has slowed to a screeching halt and w/o my DS things would have been pretty boring last week. ;)

Did...the posts get mixed around...?

It's happened a few times lately, I dunno why, but then again, I'm not the guy to ask ;) I'm sure it will get straightened-out eventually.
