Once you go Truelife (glossy in Dell land) you'll never go back to anything but. Best screen I have ever layed eyes upon. Period. End of sentence.

Strange, my brother's TrueLife Dell is exactly what is keeping me from buying a glossy screen.

Stupid glossy screen only allowed me to see my reflection when watching a dark movie (Saw 1). Never had that issue with my matte screens.

dont use dell as a reference for glossy. The best glossy screen. I have the apple glossy screen and its unbelievable. While the only dell i liked in glossy was my 700m. All the rest were pieces of shit. By far the worst glossy screen was my e1705.

My Sony's polarized coating is only semi-glossy. I love the image quality so far.

personally, my laptop is glossy. its GREAT in the dark, but outside, you get reflections, and that sucks.

Both have there pro's and cons, but snice my 17" Truelife is used almost allways inside, I go with a glossy. But if I were to get a portable 12" I would try and matted

I have a matte finish on my Sager - but I wish the glossy would have been available when I bought mine.

It depends where you use it. I never have my back to a window - if I did I would use the matte - because the glossy would bug the hell out of me. The nice part of glossy screens is the color definition. Most matte screens have problems displaying light yellow colors (look like white).

I NEVER have my laptop outside for use. I am always sitting in a controlled environment and would MUCH prefer the glossy. Evaluate your needs here and make a wise choice - because you are stuck with it.

I prefer matte myself, inside or outside.
I just don't want something shiny on my display. I don't see the point.

I'm with you Jimmy

I prefer Matte. I know its just a preference. I have had my share of laptops, (now a Dell XPS) and for my tastes, I prefer Matte.

Dell M90 semi gloss is very good ..... but I have no problems with full gloss :)
