Listing the games you're interested in might help, but your system should be able to handle all games on the market right now.

sorry-the games are:

FEAR
Quake4/Doom3
CoD2
HellGate(predict)
Oblivion
SS2
All the Source Games
GRAW
TRLegends

This is being shipped:
What i have now is:

Athlon 2600+
256mb
G4mx64

Do you think there will be a big upgrade?

It will be like night and day. Your new hardware will run circles around the old hardware.

Yes, that will be fine, as long as you got a decent power suply to run that fancy 7900GT! lol, jk, but yes, it should be like night and day...................

Thanks.

Ive also had a geforce 6800agp
everything should be MUCH better right?
Thanks so much.

Everything should run smooth with your new hardware, and i'm jealous. :p looks like a good gaming rig, and if you've had a 6800 before, well, welcome to back to your glory days.. you'll see even better performance and be glad you dropped this and that. All source games will run as per butter, doom3/q4 will be fine, etc.. everythings gonna be good.

as for MUCH better, you'll get higher res+AA/AF support, certain game options will be able to be turned off without a performance hit, etc.

ur new hardware will b able to play nearly every game on that list at high framerates with the right settings. oblivion might pose a problem, tho. word to the wise: dont immediately assume ur pc can handle all of them at max rez and graphical settings. I used to and ended up crashing my old pc beyond repair. start with lower settings and work ur way up until ur satisfied with the visuals.

LOL max settings aren't suppose to make a box crash! If anything give you bad frame rates worst case unless your box was a POS to begin with or something strange like that! :p

PS: Your box seems to be fine for most things but some games may prefer 2 gigs of ram especially the newer ones!

QFT.

The other thing I see limiting you is your resolution. That rig should be able to play some of the games you listed at 1600x1200 easy. You might want to invest in a better monitor down the road.

I personally still run 1024x768 but with 4xAA and 2xAF for that extra "mmmmmm *drool*" factor. Oh and being able to see tiny heads trying to hide across the map helps too! :D

I'd wager than FEAR wont be able to be ran at max settings. You should have forked up a bit more cash for another 1gig of RAM.
