Live! Anywhere

it sounds really cool, I doubt I would play windows live games that often though, but after watching the conference and being able to check all of your stats from you pc, control basically everything, even modify cars on your pc then race them on your x360 was insanely cool, I hope it is included in my XBL subscription, if it isn't I truely believe it will be very cheap, seeing that XBL is only $50 a year for the amazing service it is (and rumor has it it is dropping in price!)

the gap to bridge pc's and consoles has been tried before with dreamcast, there was a game called 4x4 evolution where pc players could play dreamcast players, I can only see this working in games where accuracy is not a factor, racing games, sports games, rpg's, basically everything except FPS

Nope, at E3 they were playing Shadowrun (FPS). 360 gamers were kicking the PC gamers ass... I witnessed it first hand.

Read the part where the auto-aim was turned on on all FPS games :p

Microsoft has been trying to do this for a couple years now. not neccasarily with gaming, but with online sign-ons via .Net/Passport. Not sure well this will work out, or how will it'll be implemented, but the possibilities are def there. MS scares me tho, they're getting too integrated into every apect of consumer electronics.

well ... they aren't nearly as integegrated as say ... mitsubishi, or sony, they produce alot of software and a console right now, its not like they are producing cars, fridges, microwaves etc.

but being more integrated shouldn't scare you, since that is the total and complete push of technology, being completely integrated with everything where ever you go, this is just a good push to bridge those gaps

technology shouldn't be sperate from each other, it should all interact the same

I just hope that microsoft doesn't try and screw us console gamers over. I mean, it would be totally screwed up if they raise Live fees, just so they can offer it to PC gamers for free.

As sucky as that may sound, a cheapskate like me is only intersted in it if it's for free.

The way I see it, if it's a good service, and many developers are going to implement it, then you should pay for it. The fee isn't per game, but rather per year for all games. You can even buy 3 month or 6 month subs to Live if you don't want to commit to a year.

Weirdly, I'm most interested in this for the phone stuff. I'm a convergence device believer (which makes me highly unpopular in some circles), and I want a single device that'll be a phone, media player, "lite computer", and game machine. It's easy to find a device that does two, not too hard to find three, and impossible to find four.

I would absolutely love it if I could just play my XBLA purchases on my mobile phone, too (even if there was an additional buck's surcharge for the additional platform).

XBL prices are actually rumored to be going down in the next few months

i like the idea. And not to mention pc gamers are always bitching " i wish i could own those console guys" I consider myself a good pc gamer, and i was decent at halo on xbox. But I knew a few guys that were so damn amazing at halo, watching them play made me think to myself" i use keyboard and mouse, and these guys reaction time, aiming and accuracy is damn near perfection on a controller."

Like the "100gb hard drive" rumour, I'll believe it when I see it. Or when it's ad-ridden :p
I already pay too many monthly fees as is, I don't need any more. You'd think that with all the money they're making in the marketplace, the whole system would be free.

Auto-aim assisted targetting zones that are programmed into all console FPS titles, as mentioned, are a big reason for that. Take away auto-aim and even the amateur keyboard+mouse players will have their way with them.
