Space sim's?

If you're looking for more of the flight simulator type of space sim then there's always orbiter.
But make no mistake - ORBITER is not a space shooter. The emphasis is firmly on realism, and the learning curve can be steep. Be prepared to invest some time and effort to brush up on your orbital mechanics background. A good starting point is JPL's Basics of Space Flight.

FreeSpace 2 was released to the public some time ago. You should be able to find it somewhere on bit-torrent. It's free and legal to download. Once you have FreeSpace 2 installed go here.

EDIT: You can get the FS2 install disk ISO's here.

Second the X3 pick..Decent game but it DOES have a pretty large learning curve. But once you get into it picks up alot.
Been playing EvE Online lately, but that's a pay to play mmo so may not be your cup of tea or whatever. Good game though imho...

3rd's on X3. Stole my life from me for a couple months. Now I just fire it up and take my Argon Titan into Xenon and Pirate space to wreck their bases and check up on my factories and let em make a little money. Lot's easier to learn than X2.

I got X3, awesome game, but I cant figure out how to mine, or even make money, someone please help me lol.
