Today was the best day in a long time for me. I was at work, minimized on my taskbar (lol) was the Nintendo Nsider forums, [H]ardforum, and the TeamXbox forums. I lurk/post on all 3 everyday while at work Anyways I happened to be on the internet in the right place, at the right time. On the TeamXbox forums, a Microsoft Xbox Street Team member posted a thread displaying some cool 360 RV they setup for the show... and announced they had 3 extra tickets for the show and a private MS sponsored C3 party for the first 3 people to PM this Street Team member.

I pm'd ... and I GOT A TICKET!!!

I live 45 minutes from the LA convention center so its not a far journey for me, but WOWZERS!! So not only do I have a 100% FREE! E3 ticket, but I'm invited to take place in the Microsoft C3 @ E3 private invite party @ 7:30pm - 9:30pm on Weds 5/10/06. I get to be near stage for the unveiling party for the 360/games during E3 and will be taking place in a HUGE Rockstar's Table Tennis tournament being broadcasted throughout the entire expo I am utterly excited!!!

Anyways I am so excited, pumped, happy, I said excited right ? lol. I have to give credit where it is due though. Big up for Microsoft for sponsoring this event and providing me with a FREE E3 ticket!

Anyone else here going to E3 ?

congratu-freakin'-lations man! Happy for you dude! :)

Everybody hangs out here doing work it seems.

Where do you work?

Secret ;) Actually I work in IT for a marketing company in Irvine, CA. shhh

I almost got a free ticket from a buddy who owns a tech site, but my GF's bday is on the day after it starts :(

I think I speak for everyone that doesn't get to go to E3, that we hate you.

HATE HATE HATE HATE.

You.

-_- Have a nice funeral. We're going to raid it, and make that WoW debacle seem like a playschool squable.

I to have access to E3 tickets, but I'm not 18 yet so I can't go. :(

Edit: No, you guys can have any.

Make a big poster with "[H]" on it. Hide it under your jacket. At an opportune time, start jumping up and down waving the poster around. Try and get it in view of the cameras from the tech sites that will be there taping the main speech (since you said your up front it shouldn't be too hard). :)

jk! have fun you lucky bastard
LOL, that's nice.

Have fun Noid... also I'm not sure how true is it but I read the other day on IGN that general public will not be allowed this year.. If that's ture then you're one lucky SOB Noid.

that estimate is wrong, it was $350 last year @ the door (they try to discourage the public from going to it)

only if your work new what you were doing instead of working... they'd steal your ticket and say "OMG PWNT!!1111!11!!!!oneoneoneeone!!1!1!1!!!"

Nope, I'll be hard at work back at HQ, but i'm sure plenty of my coworkers are going :p

Having "access" to a ticket dosn't mean that you can get in. If you have a press or industry pass you have to prove that you are press or industry before they let you in at the door. The ticket isn't enough to get in. (this comment isn't directed at the OP)

When I went a couple of years back we got tickets from a friend of a friend that went to Digi-Pen. It tooks us an hour sitting around scheming and negotiating with the door people before we finally got in.

That said, it isn't difficult to register a company and come up with the requisite paperwork to be in the "industry" if you really wanted to do that. Also simply working for EB used to be enough, though I don't know if it is now.

They run pretty damn high if you dont get a press pass.
Or they are free if you work for a game company ;).

I'll be there for one day maybe two... sucks that our game will not be on the floor, but it's good to see all the cool stuff. Can't wait to play the Wii.

You have your Priorities all wrong! :D

Well I would be jealous if I lived out in that area, but I live in Kansas......a long.......very long........way from E3. So Enjoy!

Yeah, do take a lot of pics. Buy a few 2GB memory cards for your camera. :p

And do that [H] sign someone suggested. All this is a start for your atonement.

I think retail people are able to visit the open exibits, but you have to be proper "industry" to go to the workshops/conferences.

I'd love to go but having an ocean as well as pretty much all of the continental US between har and thar makes it a pretty expensive and inconvenient prospect.

Oh I have a few gigs of SD storage ready for my camera ;) I'll make sure to make some make-shift [H] signs to flash around for pics
