What was the 1st thing that sprang to mind when you heard of the Revs new name!!?

The first thing that came to my mind was John Travolta in FaceOff saying:

Can't imagine anyone taking a console called Wii seriously.....

Last console from the big N I reckon. Wiiiiiii what a predicament Nintendo will be in!
 
i thought about how many redudant threads would be created about the name on every gaming forum i visit
 
The first thing I thought was "I sure as hell am not going to ever say, he come over to place we can play on my wii"... but I still plan to buy one.
 
My first thought was of a roller coaster and cresting the first giant hill to race down through the rest of the track.

Perhaps you should read what I write before you post, since I didn't defend the name. The first thought out of my head was the same thing that I thought of when I saw the Revmote (Wiimote)! As in, "wtf is that! that's so stupid!". I warned up to the remote after finding out what it can do in comparison to regular gamepads. Will I warm up to this name? That remains to be seen. But as of right now, I'm in the same boat as most people. Read before you post. Oh, and OP: Gonads and strife!

The I in Japanese is prounced like the long E sound. In Japanese, Ni sounds like knee.
 
The first time I saw it on GameSpot, I thought "What the hell, that's an awful name".Then I saw the video on their website, and now I think it's a good name.

No really, I mean it!

I like the name more than "Xbox" at least.

Listen guys, stevie is entitled to his opinions just as you are. There is no need to keep taking shots because you may disagree. If you can't be respectful then please don't post.
 
Thing is, I DON'T like the name and have said so... but people continue to think I'm blinded by some weird completely unwavering loyalty like many of them are. I like Nintendo, but that doesn't mean I automatically like all of their decisions. For instance, I personally would have paid the extra $100-200+ it would cost them to put enough power to render HD (which their target non-gamer audience would likely not consider, btw), but that doesn't mean I hold it against them either, provided I have fun with it. Meh, they could name it the Nintendo Testicle if they wanted to, as long as it has good games as they've promised. Just cause I don't like it's name, doesn't mean the product will suck. /the end
 
i agree , dont pick on stevie , this guy make many good replies and thread ... hes really aware of many things going on ... and since im lazy , i like to see him giving many news on here.

No offense (and no, I don't want to get myself banned :eek: ), but why do you think everyone's taking shots at him? All the :p and sarcastic remarks in just about every thread are just as disrespectful and provocative IMO, and I think this ground swell kinda confirms the sentament.
