Dell 2007WFP + Xbox 360 = ?

yes! hi, just today, havn't really had time to play with the settings and resolution yet
PGR looks really jaggy atm tho.
What is the recommended resolution output from the 360 for this 20" screen? I have the VGA cable
 
ok I used 1280 * 768 and put it on "4:3" mode and it looks awesome
xbox360 + dell 2007 = win

IMHO, putting it in 4:3 mode on a widescreen monitor defeats the whole purpose of having a widescreen monitor :)

I've played the 360 on my dell 2007 and it looks good (in full wide at 1280x768).
 
i'm a bit lost.. don't you have to put it in 4:3 mode so it doesn't stretch? isn't this aspect mode? or is there another option somewhere for aspect mode?

Yeah okay, I just tried it and really doesn't make much difference between 4:3 or Fill. Both basically fill the whole monitor.

But to be technical about it, you should run 1280x768 on "Fill". Your monitor is a 16:10 aspect ratio and 1280x768 is also 16:10 aspect, so "Fill" is what you want to maintain proper dimensions.
 
How does the colors on Dell 2007WFP look, when using xbox 360, does it suffer as badly as other monitors using the vga cable

The XBox 360's VGA "color washout" is not as bad on the Dell as other monitors. There is some room to raise the R,G,B, levels to compensate. It's not perfect, but it's not super washed-out the way it looks on the Viewsonic. Still, the greenery in Oblivion doesn't "pop" the way I wish it would, but overall I think it's workable.

The best solution might be to use a VD-Z3 trasnscoder ($60) to convert from the 360's component to VGA. That's what I'm going to try.

EDIT: However, overall I don't recommend the Dell 2007 because of the color banding issues (see other thread in this forum).

Yeah, hopefully my VD-Z3 arrives this week.

However, I edited my last message to say I don't recommend the Dell 2007 overall due to the color banding issues.

Wait- you have a wide screen monitor, and then you run a wide screen res in 4:3 mode? :eek:
 
Is Dell 2005 much better than 2007fpw? coz i've been reading some bad issues for 2007 lately? Need a monitor for my Xbox 360 & 2405fpw is so much expensive in my country.
 
i meant aspect mode :p but I run it in fill mode now
ill get some pics, but my camera is terrible
