Smoking XPS M170 Deal $1,349 + tax

I bought a $35 off $300 coupon on ebay. I got the coupon in the email in a few minutes and entered it into my shopping cart asap. It told me cart was expired (had it up for about an hour) went back to the deal link, and it was gone :(
 
Always my luck. Two days after I buy this, I take the car into the shop for an oil change and come out $650 lighter. New shock, belt, transmission work, and wiper fluid motor. $650. Still glad I didn't miss this deal at its very best, but it's time for macaroni lunches for the next 8 weeks!
 
I really regret not getting this... It's now $1699 and you can't lower the option on getting smaller HD & junk. GRRRR.... i'm so retarded. LoL
 
mine came in yesterday. Man that thing is fast. I love too the vast desktop realestate b/c I'm not constantly scrolling to view stuff on my laptop... Oh the best part my HDTV HTPC down stairs had taped LOST in HD. B/c this bad boy also comes with MCE standard I just viewed for videos on the netowrk with in MCE on the DELL and it found my lovely Lost episode I just taped and then I streamed it over the wireless! The fast forward wasn't the best but it looked amazing on the Dell 17" LCD. Nothing like laying in bed while watch HD on the laptop!

This thing is fast too, boots fast, runs fast, zero search time, etc. I stil had to uninstall a bunch of crud even though I checked the do not install software during checkout but oh well.

Best purchase to date I think... still need to sell off my Sony but this thing cooks.
 
My friend's system has been stuck in between the Testing and Boxing phases for the past three days. Being the good friend that I am, I continually taunt him about it. :D
 
Yeah, it comes with a lot of crap.... but the display is AMAZING!! So crisp, and black black.
 
BTW: DId you guys update your video card drivers?

WHen I try to install new ones it says I don't have the video card :mad:
And COD2 wont let me run at the reso i need.

use the ones off dell.com

i couldn't get the ones on the nvidia site to install
 
To use non-dell drivers go to laptopvideo2go.com and download the driver then use the modded .inf to make it compatible with the 7800gtx go card. I'm using the 84.25 right now off of that site with no problems at all.
 
:( im jealous....but i managed to get 1 at the outlet for 1330 shipped but the vid card was the 6800..o well

It won't be coming back. The new XPS M1710 is out. Dual-core processor with the 7900 series of mobile video cards. Also expensive as hell right now.

I didn't check but does the setup have 2x 512MB DDR2 or 1x 1GB DDR2 stock? I bought one but didn't think to check the specs. I did the cheapest set up as shown on the front page. I'd like to eventually get 2GB.

Yes indeedly doodly. There was a guy over at notebookforums.com that was a Dell reseller that was getting them ordered for around $2,700. I cannot find the thread just now though. Still, that quite a bit more than my M170 so I am content......for now. ;)
 
My m170(that i got on this deal) will be avalible for sale after finals week, i added the 120 gig hd and bluetooth.

Now you understand why I like my 9300 so much (virtually the same as the XPS2, just different colors and no lights)
 
hello guys. got a quick question.
these are out of production correct? were they getting rid of stock or something?
