In Matt's latest blog entry about Too Human, Metroid gets brought up:

Has everyone forgotten just how amazing the worlds in both Metroid Primes were already? Remember some of that fantastic music? That was running on a gamecube too! Imagine how cool the worlds in Metroid Prime III will be on the revolution, especially with that wicked controller that will make you feel more a part of the world than ever before.

No, sir! I have not forgotten about how amazing Metroid Prime was, and remains. It is my favorite game of all time, tied with Super Metroid.

I have full confidence in Retro to make Prime 3 one of, if not the must-have game of E3 2006. This will be the game that shows all other companies how to do first-person gameplay with the Revolution controller.

Does this mean it is guaranteed to be there?

Don't toy with me now.

IGN Matt said:
Well, yeah. And fully playable.

Of course this was to be expected, but it's nice to have some sort of confirmation. This has also been posted on GoNintendo.

Sounds awsome, my excitement level for the Rev is starting to go through the roof lately.

:p lets hope it LOOKS good, no doubt will it play well

and i hope stevie DOESNT chime in on this thread, as another poster brought up he makes you start to hate nintendo :(

I can't wait til E3 when we can finally see games like this take shape on the Revolution.

I would also like to congratulate Smiffy on being the first person in 6 months to beat steviep to posting a bit of news in any way related to Nintendo or the Revolution :)

lol, it's not the first time he's done it either. I made a little jab at stevie in another thread about he's just annoyed because he didn't get to post the thread. XD

Glad i'm not the only one who makes jokes about such things. >.<

(ilu stevie <3 :p)

OK, no problem, Paranoia... I won't show up in this thread, since it makes you hate Nintendo... kthxbye.

As some one who attends E3 i'm gonna let you guys in on a little secret, you learn more by reading the internet coverage than you do by attending.

Sure you don't get to hear the ocasional excited off the record gosipy outburst form developers, but it never fails to amaze me how i'd check the web once i got back to my hotel and see that i missed like 80+% of the awesome stuff they showed that day.

The biggest reason to go to E3 is to get to PLAY some of the new games and even that tends to be a pain in the butt with all the "Exhibits Only" retards filling up all the lines.

That said this should be a very good year, but i think it's probably conservative to expect a 40 minute wait to get any where near a Rev. demo station.

you just did it ugh
*is hateing nintendo because of this guys attitude*

Good, that will leave more Revolutions at launch for people who don't want to engage in flamefests against Nintendo. (btw, how old are you? lol)

On a side note, I've never been to an E3, but I don't think I'd want to go unless I was part of the gaming press. They save the good stuff for them :p

http://blogs.ign.com/Matt-IGN/ There's Matt's blog. Recently he talked about Too Human and the X360 as well.

i doubt you will have much trouble getting one at launch friend, i dont remember it being a problem for nintendo recently anywhere in north america

Hopefully the controls wont suck for this metroid like it did on the cube, completly turned me off not having 2 normal feeling analog sticks like xbox controller as well.......

I don't think the controls for Prime 1 and 2 sucked. They actually tried something different with console FPS controls and made a challenge outside of trying to aim with the analog stick. Prime 3 no doubt will use the Revolution controller/attachment allowing you to control it like a PC FPS.

If they put enough hype behind it, I think the launch will be almost as bad as the PS3's probably will be (in terms of getting a unit). Hopefully nothing will ever be as bad as the 360 ever again.

Metroid Prime's controls were what you'd expect from a console FPS (i.e. they do, and always will, suck with a gamepad, IMO). The game was so good, you just had to get used to it though. Just as with Goldeneye, for instance. I can't wait to try out the Revmote, though... I will avoid using a gamepad at all costs for FPS games, which is why I'm also enjoying Metroid Prime: Hunters lately :D

no, i can blow someones head off in CS on xbox1 with my ak at very far distances almost as easy as i could with a mouse with a S controller, the gamecubes pad just plain blows for any shooter games(when i played RE4 in EB i couldnt hit shit, it was really sad)

Did you think that maybe you just suck? :p lol j/k.... ;)

Dude, don't get this into a PC vs console thread, because it's a well known fact that you can't get anywhere near as accurate with a gamepad as you can with a mouse in any FPS game. The hitzones and autoaim are quite dumbed down on every PC->console port as well, so the point of the control scheme is moot. I will forever hate gamepads for any FPS titles, but if the title is good enough or fun enough, I will swallow the fact that I'd have to use one. Metroid Prime was one of those titles.

RE4 was in third person perspective, so the controls were just fine. They just required a lot of skill to master aiming. It's too bad your only experience with RE4 was in an EB, because it was probably the best game of last generation.

This isn't a PC vs Console thread, so stop bringing up mouse controls vs. gamepad controls, it's completely irrelevant.

Someone I hope and cross my friggin fingers is going to call me and let me know that I am getting into E3 this year, even if just for a day or two. I will even pay again for my pass.
