not trying to be a dick (and I've bought from you before) but step up to the plate, lose the MAIL IN REBATES and be honest with your customers.

Mail in rebates are nothing but a gamble with odds worse then Vegas...I live in Las Vegas BTW! If you want to discount a price with rebates..handle the rebates on an instant rebate policy...your customers are your lifeblood...quit screwing them with prices that are misleading at best!

If you have to buy something with the lure of MIR..buy elsewhere..sooner or later the misleading, unfair practice of MIR lies will be outlawed but until then boycott any retailer that has to lie about their price to make a sale.

While I appreciate your honesty, there are a few things that should be pointed out. First being that most MIRs are issued by the manufacturer, not the reseller (in this case FrozenCPU.com). So this isn't a sales tactic, or something where we are being "dishonest", it's just a friendly promotion we are doing with Thermaltake. Second being that, we put huge savings on top of the MIRs, so it's not like we're trying to lure sales in on the MIRs alone. In fact these MIRs expire Sunday, and we will still keep our additional discounts in effect after that. This is why we displayed clearly the amount the MIRs deduct, as well as what your overall savings with our additional discounts.
I understand what you're saying and your concern, because I too am a consumer. I guess all I can really do is leave you with the knowledge that we have run Thermaltake Rebates in the past, and out of the hundreds of people that have taken advantage of them, we have not received a single complaint. If by chance someone has a problem with redeeming the rebates, and can prove they followed all necessary guidelines, you can rest assured that we at FrozenCPU will take care of it for you. Hope this clears anything up, hope everyone has a great weekend.

...the bottom line and I quote

"if by chance someone has a problem with redeeming the rebates, and can prove they followed all necessary guidelines, you can rest assured that we at FrozenCPU will take care of it for you."

The use of MIR is nothing but a fishing trip but if the retailer is willing to back up the lure of the MIR with their own funds than you will always have my business...now how can we make that a FEDERAL law!

I was quite excited for the 2 120mm fans for $1 that was on the front page....then I come to the post and see its for grilles, not fans :(

PT,

What’s the point in taking it out on the reseller, as mentioned it’s rare that the reseller is actually the one in control of the MIR; and specifically in this case Frozen isn’t, its TT.

True bottom line is this, if you don’t like buying things with MIR and “rolling the dice” as you say then don’t, go for things that just have an “at the register” discount and leave the MIR’s alone. To take shots at/attack a retailer for having deals that include MIR’s doesn’t make sense; if you’ve got a problem with it go to the source not the distributor.

I’ve purchased many things from Frozen in the past and I’ve had nothing but good dealings with them, when they ran out of a specific thing, (4” Cathode lights dual kit,) they hooked me up with 2 single kits giving me an extra inverter for the same price. Not to mention its just a blast wandering through their warehouse, (though I have to start leaving my CC at another location when I do this….)

Great Deals! I've always been a fan of FrozenCPU and have bought quite a few things from your store over the last month for an upcoming project - your prices are good and your shipping is lightning quick!

Keep up the great deals!

Good deals also, but I have been browsing FrozenCPU's site lately waiting for the Vl-mpp Plus to be in stock. Do you happen to know when those will be back in stock?

From what I understand, they were in the manufacturing stage in Korea at the middle of last month. Being that they're coming from overseas, you have to add time for the freight to come over, clear customs, then be sent out to distributors like us. From what I gather from the purchasing department, we're looking at around another two weeks roughly.

Thank you all for the kind comments!

Any chance you guys might be offering a deal on a Zalman VF900-Cu graphic chip cooler?

I ordered a Hiper PSU on the 25th of April, hopefully I will recieve a Ratzpad with it.

I didn't even know the deal was going on.

Edit: Didn't even notice the tiny checkbox for the free pad. :(

I agree. I don't look twice at something with a mail in rebate unless the price without the rebate is very good. Usually the amount of the rebate isn't enough to cover the price of a stamp and the value of the time it takes to fill out form(s) and mail it in. Can't remember the last time I bought something that had a mail in rebate.

I wanted to buy several fans from you but when I add more than one fan it doubles the price in the shopping cart. The chameleon fans for instance, 7.00 for one, but 40.50 for three! Is this an "only one at the sale price per customer" deal?

Thank you for bringing that to our attention, should be all set and fixed now. Sorry about that.

Just added a handful of Thermaltake Rebate offers. I understand everyone has their own opinion on Mail-In Rebates, so take them or leave them. I should once again reiterate however, that in the years we have been dealing with Thermaltake, we have never had a problem with a customer's rebate not being honored. Feel free to PM us with any questions or comments, we love hearing from our customers!

Hey, if you haven't shopped at Frozen CPU before, you're missing out on a good experience. They're serious about what they do, and very responsive to questions and concerns.

Nice to see you here, and looks like it's time to do some shopping again. :D

Last time I shopped at Frozen CPU it was an extremely pleasant experience. You guys are great.

I'm looking at the Hiper PSUs, and I was wondering if any forum members know of some good reviews of those, or could vouch for the quality of the PSU itself? (It already looks great! :D )

Additionally, I notice those are pretty powerful PSUs, I definitely don't have hardware to use all of the power that sucker would generate. Is there any downside to "over powering" your system? i.e. would I see an increase on my power bill despite not changing my internal components?

I'll probably bite on one of those cases once I get the PSU curiousity worked out...

Edit: Bought one of the lian-li cases, Hiper PSU, and hard drive coolers. Apparently I'm completely blind and missed the whole page of links to reviews on the product page until after posting. :(

man, I don't get why people whine so much about MIR's.. I've mailed probably over 200 of them in for several years with all sorts of various companies, and I've only had one issue where I didn't get one back for 3 months becauce I didn't fill out my "email address field" because it said optional, lol. All you have to do is make copies of all your receipts and UPC's and you are fine. I have yet to not recieve any rebates back, even with the shadiest of companies and multiple rebates on single items. You just have to follow the instructions properly and fill out all the fields of the rebate form. Its simple and takes only 5 minutes.

Wait.....what?... You are kidding us right. NOT A SALES TACTIC!!! Are you Nuckin Futs. This is total sales tactic to lure in customers of virtual lower priced deals. I agree with your statements on the honesty and the responsibility of the rebates laying between customer and manufacturer, but give us a break. Advertising the big and bold type for the total price after the MIR's is a total gimic for sales. Granted your site doesn't do this fully, but you are also advertising here using this tactic. I know other sites are worse about this....and yes to the haters, TigerDirect is huge on this, but the online stores such as BB, CC, etc... do it too. There is no way that you can't say that you aren't to some degree using this as a sale tactic.

I don't know what your problem is. I don't have problems with MIRs. Sure we don't like waiting, but it's not like we're getting ripped off. You should be fully aware that it'll take 1+ month to get your rebate otherwise don't bother buying it for the cheaper price with the MIR.

Um....where did you get that I have a problem waiting for a mail in rebate? I send rebates out all the time. Perhaps reading what I wrote would enlighten you on what I was saying. Such as they claimed they don't use MIR's as a sales tactic. That is a complete and utter lie. I don't mind rebates myself. Just companies who lie about their sales technique and expect everyone to be so idiotic not to notice.

Like I said; with these MIRs, take them or leave them. I guess that in a literal sense, MIRs could be considered a "sales tactic" I was basically just trying to say that all it was, was a friendly promotion with Thermaltake and that we weren't "being dishonest" with our customers like one poster had said MIRs are. In other words, I guess I should have said "It's not a sales tactic to take advantage of the consumer". It's your choice to use them or not, we aren't forcing anyone, we just figured customers would appreciate them! Sorry for any confusion. :)

More people need to read the entire thread before accussing someone of lying. If you took what he originally said in context, you wouldn't have called him a liar. He obviously wasn't trying to take advantage of the consumer.

Anyway, however you want to take it, the product still costs the "advertised after MIR price" in the long run. Rebates save money, and are a good way for medium-sized companies to lower prices on products per-sale, without having to sell ALL of their stock at discounted prices to resellers. This means more product exposure and movement for the manufacturer, higher profit for the resellers, and lower prices for consumers. Unless the manufacturer doesn't honor the rebates, how can you go wrong?

Good prices FrozenCPU :)
