Well it is the same price I paid for my ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe on its launch day, and the ASUS is now down to ~$190. Launches always have high price, its the premium to have it at the begining.
Well my experience with the ASUS has been great. Easy assembly and only one very necessary bios update, but its completely new platform so no faults there. Been running 24/7 for a month and half now. Let me know what you are running maybe I can help.
Cool but there are some things I was not to happy with on my DFI board as oppsed to my previous ASUS board but I am sure because the platform is completely different this board will be a lot better.
Prices are generally steep on newly released items, which is understandable. However, what's up with ZZF lately? Their resellerratings have dropped and:
That ZZF price seems more in line with the prices from UK, Germany, Japan, etc.. We're lucky to be seeing cheaper prices anywhere over here because word is that DFI doesn't want to lower the price, and people are still buying them like mad just like the Penus motherboard, sending the message that inflating the price is a-okay.
If it has to do with ULi chipset supply, it's more understandable though.
I hope it is uli supply as oc'ing costs have really sky rosketed. I wasn't around at the time but I guess in the K7 days you could get a top of the line rig for 2k. Is that right?
I bought one anyway. Yes it is high, comparatively speaking. I figured if I could drop over a 1k on video cards alone, then this isn't that big of a deal. (X1900 Crossfire) I just hope it overclocks well. I believe it to have all the BIOS options, and voltage I need. We will see.
