ok im in the research phase of my next mobo, in mid may ill be going PCIe on my viedo card and some how i dont think that my AGP board will work :p

so in my post on teh vid card form i was told to take a look at the DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D(im not going SLi, jsut dont see the point in all the extra cost for it for as little as i game)

ive read the reviews, they all like it, but i know its hard to hate something you get for free so i wanted some user thoughts on it

so lemme know :)

I'm really happy with mine. It's stable and booted on the first try, which is always a good start. :p It's got tweaking features up the ass, so if you're into overclocking, this board will be right at home in your PC.

great overclocker, stable, lots of features dunno what ucan say thats bad about this board :p i like it all around

This is like my thirst post today talking about DFI-street.com.... they should pay me commission or something. Anyways, they have dfi-street, an incredibly useful forum where you can find hardware that's been tested to work w/ your motherboard so the possibility of having 'issues' between your mobo and RAM or mobo and PS are really reduced. They also have their own employees posting on the forum as well as moderate. It's great.

Even if you aren't planning on going SLI, the Ultra-D is easily moddable to the SLi board. :)

aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh did you mean out the ass?

there were some power regulation problems with this ultra d mb .although not all of them are affected . i've seen some builders claim that the RMA rate is as high as 33%

out of the last five i've built two were great , two were just OK and one has been on the RMA merry go round three times. i think it has cost more in shipping charges than it's worth,

it is back and running ok @ stock speed(for now) . as for DFI street they will claim its everything but their MB . it;s the ram its the ram settings it's the PSU they say go out and buy but all this gold-plated stuff . well i have all this gold-plated OCing stuff and the MB still is flakey !-wtf?

but the really funny thing is i can take the same ram, psu ect and plug them in the DFI-ultra d's that arn't having any problems and they work fine ??? one of them has been running a un approved 450w psu and 2 gigs of bargin basement 1g sticks of generic ram for nearly a year overclocked to 2.8g withoug a hiccup ? why can't they all do this ?

but the probelm child dfi-ultra d can't even stay stable @ stock speeds with all the approved stuff and the settings set to the streets specs.

i would say IF you happen to get a good one should have a very good MB . but if your unlucky and get one of the MB's that should have been recalled--then you just as well put DFI's rma department on the speed dial--

really i like the asus a8n sli line better but i CAN"T get away from the freaking high VDIMM options on the DFI boards .. i want to run BH5/2225 ram for sure and the DFI is the best board for it... oh well ..

mal

not to sound noobish or anything, but ive looked in revies and all that and none of them tell me what it is

the dual eathernet ports on the mobo are for waht?

ok ive been reading the DFi street forums and i see something about this mobo that i dont like, it requires a 24 bin PSU, got that, the 4 pin power connecter, got that, but it also needs a molex and floppy connecter?!?! if those are required connections, this mobo isnt for me :(

For being a pimp

There are various things you can use this for. A more advanced setup you can use it to hook up to two different networks.

However I would assume its main purpose was one plug into hub or w/e, other is pass-through to antoher computer.

anyone?

i do but they are on teh same powerline so i dont think that would work

The extra floppy and molex are for SLI stability and such.

If that is one of the big reasons that you are not going to get this board, then you need to do more research homie. That's as weird a reason for not getting a this mobo.

The PSU that you have(OCZ) should have spare floppy and molex connection. Unless your rocking TWO floppy drives or SIX HDDs in your tower, you should be fine.

Or unless your pimping your rig with all kinds of case bling and windows and don't like how those power connections will look inside your case.

Good luck.

Shameless plug... I have one for sale the expert edition in the for sale forum for 150 shipped. I have had it for a total of 2 months. I have an x1900xt so I am switching to an Asus A8R32-MVP

If you wnat to oc the Dfi is for you, lots of options and holds most of the WR's. If you do not want to go dfi get the epox sli baord. Its what Team Japan uses to bench.

well biggest prob is htat the the HDD and floppy are on the same wire modstream wires are a bitch to hide so i dont want ot run 2 different wires, im not sure that in the end my PSU will be able to handle it all eather im not going Sli(ever...) so i went with the 450 one, in june ill be going with water cooling so ill have a pump to add to that drain and as soon as i get a window cut ill be adding UV and purple lights

really dont want to have to buy a new PSU to run a friggn mobo :p

@ Renswic

Team Japan is just what many refer to the Japanese oc'ers. They are extremely good and hold most of the super pi WR's for AMD and Intel. It doesn't get better then them.
