Thieves Guild Quest - Hieronymous Lex won't believe me! (spoilers)

So I'm doing the quest where I need to plant the statue in that woman's cupboard to frame her for the crime. I did it and went to tell Hieronymous Lex, but even when I get his disposition up to 70 he says "your credibility is too low for me to believe that" or something along those lines.

I dont have any bounty though. I have Fame of 8 and Infamy of 3.

any thoughts?
 
Try to bribe him. I had max disposition with him before it worked
 
If I try to bribe him it says "your disposition is as high as it can go" or something. Its at 70.
 
I bribed the hell out of him, got him to believe me then pickpocketed him for my money back. Got a 5 gold fine for stealing 1k gold off of an Imperial Guard, not bad at all.
 
Actually, when you got caught stealing from him you lost $5 gold coins and were still unable to keep the gold you looted from him. So, you got screwed in that deal.

At least thats how its worked for me anytime I'm caught pickpocketing someone and they catch me.
