Anyone subscribed to Dells sales news letters knows that when dell starts to close in on their end of quarter sales figures they set up crazy deals.

This quarter's promo seems to be "Dells 10 days of Deals" which updates daily at http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/sna.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~topic=dod

While poking around the page i found a teaser of what deals are coming for this 10 day sales event. http://www1.us.dell.com/content/top..._deals_teaser?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~lt=popup

Below is a copy of the list.

Desktop Gaming
Its pritty safe to assume there will be a XPS laptop and desktop sale on the last days, but due to a typo (?) on the page as to when the "Mobile Gaming" will show up, im going to check every day next weekend.

Another perdiction: Dell just this week made a huge move on their business laptops replacing almost all of them with Dual Core models. Sence the XPS laptops are all single core, im perdicting they want to unload a lot of inventory to make way for dual core XPS moble.

Do you think i am way off mark? Or are you as excited as I am?

I saw this and also very anxious about it. Only one prob, i called Dell and they arent going to have the 7900 vid cards for another month or so.

That means, for me, I'd buy a gaming laptop w/7800 and then already be out of date =/

Oh well, still looking forward to the new deals.

Looks like dell corrected their typo, April 8th is still my best bet for XPS laptop deals.

the xps m170 is down to 1350 now I dont know how it can possibly get any better of a deal but I hope so but at the same time I dont want to have to cancel my order to reorder at the new deal price! ahhh

I don't know, I just ordered a Dell Outlet M140 (i don't game on it really) - Pm 2.0Ghz, 1gb ram, 60gb 7200rpm, dvdrw for under $1100, which I thought was a pretty damn good deal.

No not really, the XPS 140 is also on sale big time :D

The reason is they preping for the new XPS Core Duo models. They are clearing out old inventorey

I'm not seeing any "big" deals yet. I don't think they can cut very much off the prices. You are getting a lot of hardware for the money already.

I dont think it can get any lower but that would be awsome, but then I got to cancel again and reorder lol.

When will the website update the deals for the 8th? It says deals end 10pm CT so todays deals are over.

they updated in today around 7:45am CT. they should update it at midnight; ah well.

i too don't think there has been any blockbuster deals; since they are so low already. i've called three reps and there was nothing they could do to help me on the price because the coupons "were so big."

we'll see though, dell might be saving the best for last.

i hope.

well its updated, I guess the mobile gaming deal is the m140? Well at least I dont have to cancel now lol.

yea i checked and I did not see anything. I bet Dell sold a butload of XPS 170's yesterday ;)

yeah, i don't have to cancel either, lol.

today's deals are crap. hopefully they'll go out with a bang tomorrow.

They've had that m140 deal all week. (battery upgrade/dvdrw free). Though dell outlet XPS laptops are $400 off, I seriously can't beat that.

too bad all the xps notebooks in the dell outlet are crap.

i did a simple search for notebooks with 1gb of ram, a dvd burner and a 256mb video card - no results. even the results that didn't have dvd burners were more expensive than you can get on a new system.

i would drop bluetooth, the warranty and accidental damage. that should save you some cash.

all bluetooth products are crap anyways, not to mention very expensive, so just save yourself the $30 and get 2.4 ghz wireless logitech products.

instead of the warranties just get renters insurance. it's cheaper and covers everything you own - not just your notebook.

when i called they tried to sell me the accidental damage plan and i said "i've got renters insurance" and they said "that's the magic word - say no more."

otherwise very nice machine. the only thing i'd add would be the audigy 2 zs.
