2407 release date

Maybe, the 2707 and 2407 might come at same time in April ??
That would be great. I'm looking to play the new "Oblivion" on Dell 27" 2707.
That game sure is getting wild reviews. Atomic's Review today is calling it: "Greatest RPG game ever made". http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/article.asp?CIID=36074
C'mon Dell speed things up, so we can Game on our new 2407's and 2707's. :D

I've pretty much given up on the 2707... I don't think it'll be announced any time soon let alone released at the same time as the 2407.
 
Some people are running 1920x1200 on 17" notebooks; I think 27" monitor at that resolution is too little, personally.

Oh, I have faith that it will come out eventually. The Dell guy on the widescreengaming forurms led me to believe that it wasn't going to come out anytime soon.

I was worried about that, too.
So I examined a 27" 1080P LCD-TV running in a Circuit City store ("1080P" means "1920x1080 rez").
I looked so close my face was almost touching that 27" screen.
Those pixels were so tiny as to be near-invisible and picture was detailed, smooth, real nice.
So I concluded the 27" Dell will be just fine at its slightly-higher 1920x1200 rez.
 
In October, there will be a… 27 inches: According to some of our sources, other than Dell, the resolution will be similar to the 30 inches: 2560 x 1600 pixels. We will confirm this point later…

May 3rd? I hope this isn't true. That's more than a month away.

Unfortunately, BeHardware didn't list any source for this info, so who knows if it is accurate. I wonder if Dell will really wait this long to start selling a monitor they already have listed on their support site. Anyone know an inside source at Dell who could give us the scoop?
 
Let's decontruct this, bit by bit. The 3007 was rumoured about for a good month before it started selling on Dell's website. I think April 1st will still see it officially acknowledged and a month after to actually see it being shipped.

Apple routinely does this with their product announcements, so it's concievable.

I'm more eager to know the price than to get it in my hands, to be honest.

Since I just blew 1600 on a new build, I'm trying to save some cash. Any thoughts on what they might be selling left over 2405s for after the 2407 comes out? Or will they completely exhaust the 05s first?

I know someone will probably say buy a used one from someone who upgrades, but I just won't do that. Too many variables. I'd rather not get a refurb from Dell either, but we'll see.
 
Would be nice to hear something from d*ll soon, tax money is burning hole in the pocket and my lcd just is not enough ( 27inch 1280x768 ) even been holding off new build untill after 6/06/06 for am2's are killing me, and then still not moved over to pcix. Is it me or is everything lately taking its time?

They've been putting them on sale for a while now. I don't think you'll see them new for much more than 20% off.

That thread was about different revisions of the 2405... We weren't posting pics of the 2407. But I appreciate your enthusiasm. ;)
 
where did Askanison go?? :confused:
did he recieve the monitor, cause I wanna see pics of it in action, and for someone to confirm that it doesn't have the lag of the Samsung 244T.
 
I might be wrong, but the 2407 is currently about 100,000 yen on Japan's website, which is under $900.
 
Top 10 things you can do while waiting for the 2407 to be released:

10. Find ways to blame President Bush for the lack of information.

9. Find ways to blame Bill Gates for same.

8. Get a life.

7. Start rumors about the 2707 release date.

6. Use IM and/or myspace to make a friend in Japan, get him/her to buy one and ship it to you.

5. Then get him/her to buy and ship one to me.

4. Figure out concrete ways to move the country to mostly ethanol based cars and roll out the infrastructure; at this rate, you'll have plenty of time to think.

1. Email Dell and tell them to release this bad boy YESTERDAY, because you have it on excellent authority that SED monitors will be released in May after a super-secret marketing and technology summit was convened in Japan, and that they'll be priced at 800 bucks for a 32'' SED panel.
 
PLEASE Dell put these friggin monitors out soon... specifically the 2007WFP... I have been thinking about them so much that I am starting to have dreams about them!? This is just plain ridiculous... If there was a 20" WS out there that had height adjustment for ~$400 I would get it... tired of waiting. Come on jerks.
 
Im just hoping dell release it by april 1, waiting for it to come out and get some actual reviews is killing me

The game is Cell Factor, i THINK. There's a few videos of it around the web. Suppose to use the physics processor by Ageia?

Btw, i'm buying the 2407wfp the moment it comes out at $799. =)
 
Indeed, it's clearly a 4:3 aspect panel, and it clearly has way too many button, as well as the active input indicators, to be the 3007.
