Well I have around $500 to blow on a new lcd. Right now I have a 17 inch Proview Lcd which is ok but the max resolution on it is 1024x768. A couple months ago I bought an Amd 3800 x2, 7800gt, msi k8n neo4 plat. So I think its time to upgrade my monitor.

I have been looking at the Dell 2005FPW's and I think I might get that. Although I have been reading a lot and some people complain about some type of light leak. So the alternative would be this Viewsonic which people are saying is nice because of the 8ms response time.
I am not sure what the response time is on the 2005fpw. The only thing I don't really like about the Viewsonic is its not height adjustable but I can live with it. The other problem is that if I order it from newegg I don't like their minimum of 8 dead pixels for an rma policy. With Dell it seems they will take it back for any reason even if you have 1 dead pixel.

Anyway I have been looking on slickdeals for Dell coupon codes but after reading around I don't know if the 2005fpw is the best decison. What do you guys think? Thanks

That Viewsonic is a solid choice. Also consider the Acer 2032WA or the F-20, the Ferrari version of the 2032. It's about $470 shipped (F-20 is a bit more), and cheaper still at Buy.com with some incentives they frequently have. I think the 2032 will be my choice when I get the dough saved up.

Thanks for the suggestions. The viewsonic is looking really good and from what I hear all of their monitors are great.
I put the model into pricegrabber and found a place techonweb.com and it seems to have the lowest price for me with shipping and tax. They have a lot of positive feedback so I might go with them.

$404.32
+ Tax $30.37
+ Shipping $14.53
= $449.22

Err well someone offered to give me a 25% off coupon for Dell Lcds. I have heard good and bad about both lcds but I can't make up my mind again!
