temporary vertical green line on brand new samsung 215tw

just got a new samsung 215tw. absolutely love it. best lcd i've ever seen in person. however, a day after i got it, while using it (in windows) the screen flickered and a vertical bright green line 1px thick appered towards the center of the screen. it went from the top of the display to the bottom. tried analog and dvi from different computers, and the line was still present. showed up in different resolutions, and in non-windows (bios) invironments. Line was there the whole next day. Figured I'd bring it back and swap it out for another one. The next morning (today) when I turned it on, the line was gone. the display has worked fine all day. Anyone know whats up? never experienced this before. Thinking I should bring the display back to be safe, just in case this is a sign of bad things to come after the return period / warrenty are up. Anyone else ever experience this?

I wouldn't take any chances. Return it and get another one.
 
i would return it.

i had a dell with a purple line as you described but it never went away...

it means something is flaky in there and will likely f up at some later date...

i had a laptop with similar ting except it kept getting worse until there were aobut 10 lines..

so..... xchange it
 
Try to reproduce the problem with no inputs, while you're looking at a setup menu. If it happens there, then it's conclusively a problem in the monitor.
 
yeah i had a 2405 with a red vertical line tht would be there when the lcd isnt warmed up..ie, powerin on or from sleep mode....it never went away so i exchanged it

Replace it. I had a Samsung 940b that did has this exact problem and it just got worse. I just RMAd it and got a new one in a few days. You get to keep it until the new one arrives too.
