What keyboard do you use?

i use a generic keyboard also...

what commonly use around her is the fancy logitech G15 one

or the saitek eclipse

I use this Microsoft Muti-Media Keyboard. I dont need a $100 to play games. I got it only sale for 25 bucks at Office Depot. :p

saitek eclipse because it looks cool, especially with my razer diamondback plasma mouse.

I use the wireless microsoft ergo keyboard.

came bundled with my wireless optical desktop pro 2.0 setup (wireless optical intellimouse explorer)

I love it :)

i did have a Logitech mx3100 combo, and that keyboard was really nice. but my new Logitech G15 is SWEET!! the backlit keys are awesome when typing with the lights off, definately worth the money.

I ise one of those dell performance keyboards. I bought a lot of them on fleabay for $12 shipped. :)

Wolfclaw rev.2. Had it about 3 months and this thing kicks butt, nice oversized keys on the left section for people like me that have big ass fingers. Before that I had a 5$ board i got from the bagin bin at microcenter. It looked like trash but worked pretty well except for the fact that it didn't like for you to press too many keys at the same time.

logitech elite
FTW

both saiteks are really nice

the command pad that comes with the gamer is pretty much useless, other than that its a great keyboard

they have pretty blue lights :)

Saitek Gamer's Keyboard!

The Command Pad can be reprogrammed for some great hotkeys. It was designed to be used for gaming (but I've got an Nostromo n52 for that), so I use it for all my WinAmp controls as well as a remote open/close for my DVD burners since the drives are stealthed.

i was using a Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite until i built a new computer. now i've handed off the Microsoft stuff to the wife to use on the old desktop and i had been using a cheap (i mean SUPER cheap) generic kb until i found a suitable replacement. i was at the swap meet (flea market) yesterday and bought a fairly grungy MS Natural Keyboard for 3 dollars. i brought it home, busted out the 409, and now it looks almost literally brand new. types pretty well for 3 bucks, but i think i'm still looking to upgrade to a Wolf Claw II or G15 if i can buy it used or sale-priced.

I am still using the trusty old Microsoft Wireless Desktop (Multimedia keyboard+Optical mouse)

As the title suggests. I've always used a basic 104 key brick from the early 90's, unfortunately the ctrl key is dead and I guess I gotta upgrade. So what do you think is the best keyboard out there? I was actually looking at this: http://store.yahoo.com/logicalplus/dequ104keslf.html

Using that one at work right now. I like it, and wouldn't mind having one at home. I'll probably get mobbed for saying this, but I've never found a Logitech keyboard that I really liked. The ones I tried were uncomfortable and loud. The G15 might be different though. Going to look at CompUseless sometime and try to find a new one that fits me. I feel like I have carpal tunnel already. :(

I use this keyboard

I got my new off eBay for $18 shipped. It has 2 usb ports on the back, so you can plug your mouse in or whatever. I like the big space bar, but you gotta make sure the shift key is all the way down for it to work. Kinda annoying, but you get used to it. The multimedia controls light up and the caps/scroll/num lock has cool picture-like indicators at the top of the keyboard. One other thing I don't like about this keyboard is the volume knob because the intellitype volume indicator does not respond to it, like it does to volume up/down buttons.

Works great and I am pleased.

Just a couple month ago I retired my AuraVision EluminX to my wife. It had been my keyboard for five years. Still glows blue!

Now I'm using a Logitech cordless (the MX3100, to be precise.) Have been for a couple months. But to be honest with you, I heard some arcing noises (snap crackle pop pop) coming from it earlier today. It still works, but has me concerned.

MS Ergo 4000 - absolutely love it. More people should convert to ergo.

I can't believe how people praise the Saitek gaming keyboard . I ordered it from Amazon and after 23 minutes of actually owning it I boxed it back up and sent it back! It was that bad. I wouldn't give that keyboard to my worst enemy.

*the backlight doesn't shine through the keys, only behind them, so you can't see which key is which if it's dark (the other Saitek keyboard does have laser-cut keys, but not this one)
*the keys were so slow, my fingers had to WAIT for them to return to normal position if I started typing faster than like 10 words-per-minute!

This thing sucks. Period.

Do you game with this keyboard? And if so, is it awkward to use (as in FPS a-w-s-d)?

On my main computer I use the G15. Works great with photoshop. The rest of my keyboards are what came with my MX3100 bundles...

on my primary desktop, i use an older black IBM laptop that come off a netVista server. it's heavy and has tacticle feedback and is PS/2 -- i like all that. on my thinkpad, i use, well, my thinkpad keyboard :p

on my unix server that i run in our home office, i have one of the little 80-key "unix" keyboards that is USB and has the integrated USB hub.

it's all about the right keyboard for the right application.

Like new condition IBM 'model M' here ....circa 1986 ..... < click - click>

Stop and think about how many keystrokes you perform in a year's time. Yet most people
don't consider the build quality of the component they touch the most - the keyboard. Not to
mention how the board's construction effects them physically. Keyboard with actual springs
instead of cheap rubber domes give a more tactile responce, and are much better for you.

Sadly most keyboard are crap these days - basically disposable. Guess more people are
concerned with fancy colors & lights then build quality. All the better for the manufactuers'
profit margins. But bad for us.

Logitech UltraX is a very nice keyboard for $20.

Moderate footprint, limited dedicated-function switches that work without added software, short-stroke keys, good typing layout with tactile F and J 'home key' sensors.

Hope this helps!
