Hey everyone, I didn't see a thread like this, so I figured I'd make one because I'm curious to see what everyones character looks like, classes, skills, etc are.

Please post your character's race, class, etc, and what your favorite adventure has been so far. Also, how many hours have you played so far and what's the best item you've found?

I'll start off.

My character's name is Salvor Hardin (From Foundation by Isaac Asimov). He is a high elf Mage, under the Apprentice star sign. This means I take like 3x damage from spells. I've been one hit by just about every spell I've been hit by so far, yet, I have basically limitless mana. This certainly makes for interesting gameplay! (<3 oblivion)

I love my character! I maxed the difficulty when I first started playing expecting the game to be as easy as morrowind, and wow, it took me like 5 tries to kill the rats in the tutorial. I get killed in 2 hits because I am a weak mage:) I figured that they may have made it impossible to play a mage class, until I picked my class and got all those shiny new skills:D

One gripe I had about morrowind is that the summons sucked bad. I remember I was fighting a decent level guy, and I summoned every single creature in the game (Like 10) and they all got slaughtered within 30 seconds. This time around, you can only summon one creature at a time, but they are so much cooler than they were in morrowind! Blah I could go on and on.

*Spoiler Alert*
Anyways, so far my best adventure is probably a quest I picked up by overhearing some people talk about a gang that was seducing and robbing married men in a town. I talked to the most recent victim and found out that they pick up guys in a bar on the wharf outside of town. I went in there and hung out for awhile before two women approached me.

Woman 1: "You look lonely, and we're lonely. Why don't we have a little fun tonight, meet me at the farm house west of town at 11PM."(Or something like that)

So I went to the farm house and practiced my spells while I waited for 11 come. At 11 I went in and one of the ladies was waiting for me. She said

"Oh you came, what a pleasant suprise. Don't stand there in your clothes, you look so uncomfortable. Why don't you undress so we can have some fun."

It was rather funny because I already new about their scam. I was like
"How bout not" or something to that effect:p

And she called down 2 other girls and locked the door. They all brandished weapons and charged at me. We were in a tiny, one room farm house so it was terribly difficult for me as a mage since I had nowhere to run. I summoned my Dremora (Will post a picture when I get home) and casted a shield spell. I jumped on the bed and was running around the room healing myself over and over while blocking with my sword while my summon beat them up. lol!!!! It took me quite a few tries, because after I killed 2 out of them, the third would one-hit me with a lightning spell. Bleh:p

/spoiler

I can't make any screenshots because I'm at work, but when I get home, I will post some up.

I've been playing for 15 hours, and I think the best two items Ive found so far are a dagger I looted off of one of the gang members from the story, and a helmet I just got that gives me 15% magic resistance, which I need desperately since I take around 2-3x damage from spells, and my strength is dismal at best.

I'm excited to hear about your characters and stories. No flames please=)

EDIT: Here are all the screenshots Ive taken

Not much "story" on my char yet, but I've only managed to play for about an hour so far. I'm playing a dark elf named Baresh (roll the r for the pronunciation of it). Picked a dark elf as kind of a "tie in" with Morrowind. He was born under the sign of the Mage and therefore has 50 points extra mana to help with spells. I intend to make him into a battlemage, good with either weapons or casting spells. Right now, there's nothing better then smacking those darn pesky rats with flare, or whatever the spell is, and roasting them. One shot one kill...hehehe. The goblins are a little tougher, but not much. A stealthily placed arrow for double damage followed up by a flare or two and they're just as toasty as the rats. Still in the dungeons right now, but hope to get to play more tomorrow... :D

Nice, On hard mode the rats take 4 flares to kill. Theyre pretty hard to hit too. They kicked the crap out of me.

I'm level 6 now and have done NOTHING on the main plot/quest. I've left the Imperial City only once, to walk to a Nord town to meet a fence.

The character is Grymar, a wood elf Assassin. So far I'm in the Mage's Guild, the Thieve's Guild, a Pit Dog in the Arena, and in the Dark Brotherhood. The only problem I'm having is that I keep getting distracted by new quests and never finish the old ones.

how do you balance the theives guild and the dark brotherhood since you can't kill anyone while in the theives guild?

Well, it isn't that you can't kill anyone while in the Thieve's Guild (as I understand it), it is that you can't kill the targets of the special quests that the guild gives you and you shouldn't kill everyone you steal from.

I like both, I like the infiltration and quiet theft missions, plus I like the assassination missions. So far there hasn't been a conflict but I imagine there will be down the road. At some point I'm probably going to have to choose one over the other, but I'm going to have fun until then.

My character, a dark elf assasin-ish figure left the sewers and decided money was more important than anything else, so I made my way towards the Empire's #1 money maker:

The Arena.

The fighters were easy at first... and then, I had to face twin elf sisters, a dream to many, a nightmare to me.

The battle's about the start, the anouncer is calling out the combatants. I wait in the tunnel, hiding in the shadows, bow drawn and pointed at the throat of one of the sisters. The battle starts and I let loose with an arrow. I know it hit its mark because I saw one of the sisters fall down and let loose a death cry that trailed in a gurgle as blood flooded my target's throat.

Well, suffice it to say, the bow and stealth because my primary opening attack. I made it to grand champion and then realized the reward's useless to me :(

Now, I'm debating whether I want to join the dark brotherhood or not. You see, I left the arena, and this elf boy ran up to me asking if he could follow me around. "Great, I have a fan!" I thought to myself. Unfortunatly, he is -constantly- giving away my position, he sings horribly, and he's just very annoying.

I am playing a Nord Warrior, born under the warrior sign.

I've probably played a total of 6 hours or so. I have been doing mostly the Story quests, though I am about to go get some quests from the Blades since I joined them. I am trying to find out where the "artist" quest is where you have to rescue this painter from a magic water-color painting he fell into that I read about, but I have no idea where it is located.

I too am playing a Dark Elf, and I also picked the Assassin class. I chose the sign of the Theif for the extra stats. I'm pretty good with the bow and sword at level 4 and I'm working on my restoration magic. I'm a little way into the main plot but I think I'm going to leve it alone for a while. I got a horse, which is sweet (don't have to wait to level 40 w00t ;) ).

So far I've played the class more like a Ranger than an Assassin, but I do love using the bow from the shadows to get the 3x suprise attack damage. I can take down any bandit with one shot...Daedra on the other hand not so much.

I'm also in the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood (while my character is actually a theif anyways).

Its easy, so long as you don't kill your mark as you are stealing and don't steal why you are killing, no probs (course, you can kill your mark, complete the assignment, go back and knick the loot anyways, nothing wrong with that it seems...heh)

plus it just seems to be the perfect combination of evil (as if you would play a game to be good, bah)

Oh and kinda offtopic, my stolen horse doesn't run away ;)

I did that quest <SPOILER>

Go to the house where the chick who tells you her husband (the painter) is missing, go into his studio and spacebar the painting that is on the ezel, you will then see what to do

This is my female Breton Kelwynd.. custom class called a Mageblade.

Mostly magic primary skills, with blades, block, and heavy armor thrown in. Pretty fun character so far, although I already want to reroll with a thief lockpicker/marksman type character.

Don't you get one once you leave the city with Martin? Or are you making a reference to another game?

Yeah, I was refering to WoW.

Hey Col Sanders, where did you find that armor?

Wow, I feel like i'm repeating everyone, but I am a Dark Elf as well. My character's name is Cregan and he is a custom "thief" class.

His major classes are: sneak, security, acrobatics, blade, block, destruction, and light armor. I've also used that small heal spell so oftern that the corresponding skill is pretty doggone high!

I've been playing for 6 hours and just joined the Thieves Guild. I've already fenced 300 septims worth of items on my first trip, and I am so happy that I can buy lockpicks from my fence! I wish there was a way to craft them in game.

I really haven't completed very many quests at all. Mostly I've just been wandering around and exploring some of the ruins nearby.

I've only found one magic item so far: boots that boost my speed by 6 points.

My fav. memory so far has to be taking out a group of at least 8 bandits in a dungeon. I used sneak a lot and took them out one at a time. I did such a good job that no one knew I was even there until I attacked them, and the others never noticed me, which was awesome! I felt like a black-ops operative or something. It was sweet!

I'm going to go join the Fighter's Guild and the Mge's Guild very shortly.

How do I take a screenshot in game?

My character is a female Breton Mage, I've been using flare and summon skeleton for most of my combat with a little bit of blade work in there as well. Flare is so weak it's not even funny I'm level 6 now and it takes like 20 blasts lol, i just use the Skeleton as a decoy and then fire away.

I've been to the Arcane College I think it's called and want to join the Mage Guild but I have no idea how. I need a different spell but the only one I found to replace Flare was Flame I think but I need 75 Destruction skill and I'm only at like 50 ugh. I get my ass beat easy, save often is my motto :)

In short I am playing a Kajit acrobat who is a member of the dark brotherhood.

You can join the mage guild by going to ANY of the major towns outside the imperial city and talking to the people in the mages guild. All the towns have guild houses and they will all sign you up. The city of Skingrad has lots of destruction spells so I would go there first.

Anyway, I play a level 7 Female Breton Magi named Ambere Maltusk. I have completed 2 of the mage guild quests needed to get access to the Arcane Academy so far and I intend to one day be the head of the entire guild!

I generally fight by summoning a skeleton or a scamp (imp like creature that throws balls of flame) and then attacking with my own flame balls as well. I am horrible with weapons so I only carry a dagger for last ditch defense... Running works better for me most of the time. I do wear light armor though because I just can't stand the thought of being out in the dangerous world without some kind of protection.

So far the toughest thing I have ever done is clear Lipsand Tarn, North of Charoll, of all these nasty vampires. It took awhile and a trap darn near turned me into paste, but I got it done!

My character is pretty much a sneaky marksman. I am getting really proficient with the bow. From a hundred yards away (about, not sure of distances in the game) I am getting people on the first shot... with a 3x damage boost for sneaky kills. Of course I also have blade skills and some destruction, but that's just because I don't want to get bored later with bows and daggers.

I'm a Dark Elf born under the sign of The Thief. I specialize in light armor, marksmen, and destruction spells. I'm in the Thieves Guild and have done a little bit of the story. Only lvl 2 at the moment because I haven't had much time to play =/.

I used Fraps to take screenshots. I have a level 2 crusader.

With Rusty Iron Armour, Blade I got at Floating Inn and the Rumare Ring.

Nice armor:D I posted up some screenies of some of the stuff that I have also, including a few of my summons. The spider is so cool:)

Thank you for that screenshot because you have the same graphics card as I do and I wanted to know how the game looked. I dont gat paid for six days though :( .

No problem, its working really well at those settings. I had to use my old 17" CRT though. I have a 20.1 inch lcd with a native res of 1600x1200. I had to sacrifice too much eye-candy to keep it going at that res. It was fine indoors in the dungeons. But once outside, combat would stutter. So indoor combat and walking around outside was pretty good. But outdoor combat was too much to handle.

At 1024x768, I don't have to sacrifice anything. But, I did have to use AA, jaggies are really visible at that resolution. So, with AA enabled...I can't turn on HDR. But that's ok with me because Bloom is actually pretty nice.

I had made an Evil looking Dark Elf named after my self, but I am starting over again and going to focus soly on Magic as a High Elf.

I think I'm going start over again too. I've just been putzing around with settings and stuff and find that I really miss having mercantile or speechcraft as major skills. I always wanted to try out an Imperial Knight, but never got around to it. I always stuck with Redguard or Nord combat specialists. Also, the new casting system is awesome. So I may even try a breton or high elf mage at one point. So many possibilities...

My character is named Aleria, and she's an Agent born under the sign of The Thief

I've restarted her a few times, but I have finally settled on her as a character. I haven't bothered with any of the main quests, I've done 3-4 side quests and a ton of hunting and exploring.

18 hours gone and I've barely done anything.. I've joined the Thieves guild and I've been running around town using persuasion on folks who hate me. Bribing them with gold first really helps, but I'm running out of gold.. so I'm going to take to the wilds again to find some more dungeons with treasure. I've been thinking about joining the Dark Brotherhood.. and I've already decided which npc is going to die.. I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

I am going to pick the High Elf and then my sign will be the first choice, the one that boosts your Magic by 150% but you take 100% DMG from magic used on you. Since the "Altmer" Elf already takes strong dmg from the elementals, what does it matter if I get further hurt from all kinds of Magic. I will be starting off with Magic skills that are way above normal. That gives me a huge advantage at the start because unless you are an ORC, your starting strenght skills are low!

Way too much yap-yap in this thread and not nearly enough pics.

^^^based on what I really look like, of course ;)

I take 50% extra damage from magic and such fights can be a serious PITA. I can't imagine taking 200% or whatever it is you will be taking.

There is one Mages guild quest that's going to be VERY tough for you. This woman who is way over your level attacks you and you have to let someone else kill her, but it takes forever. Meanwhile she focuses 100% on you and casts lots of spells. With just 50% vulnerability 1 hit was dropping me to 10% health so you would get 1 shotted. I had to redo the mission 4 times until I figured out that I should just run in circles and dodge her attacks as much as possible while the other people kill her. I still almost died 3 times in the fight I finally won.

BTW, I am now level 9 and an apprentice in the mages guild. I am just about to start a quest to make my own mages staff. Woot!

how can I swing the camera around and get a front shot?? Seems I can only get a profile when I try to move the camera around.

Looks like she blinked during the photo! I'm wearing shit gear and have a silver longsword I think it is. I need to get my destruction skill up to 75 before I can get a different spell :( until then I'm stuck with flare and weak flame that I got from a Mage Guild quest, sucks!

Thats why I need to focus on Mysticism, which I get 10+ just being a Altmer. Mysticism: "Cast Spells that absorb, reflect, and dispel magic, move objects, sense life and blind souls..."
The more powerful you are in the art of Magic, the longer these spells last. I plan to make sure that I will be on safe level, but it will take a lot of training, but I am excited about it, I can't wait till I get home and get to play!
