Well it came in a box with a quarter sized hole right over the screen, it has some pronounced bleeding in one corner, the other corners are acceptable, and expected.

is this what everyone else's looks like? does any of my corners look "normal" for a dell 2005fpw. no dead pixels though :)

so should i get it replaced? or just return it and buy a $150 more dell 2001fp for $500 ish
or another monitor for 500ish?

you can go through their fairly easy replacement process and hope you get a better one (can do this unlimited times) or you can get a different one.

how much will i spend on shipping all these times? do they cover it both ways? or might ups cover it because the box was punctured?

free shipping...both ways :D

tell them it has bleeding and theyll send you a knew one

sweet.

now how about the bleeding in the other corners? is it normal, or bad for a regular dell 2005fpw.

i would love to have zero zero bleeding. but it its just the equivilent of the top corners in my pics, i would be fine with it.

Look at my Bleeding. SO BAD...

By the way, I got my monitor yesterday.

REVA03 FEB06

I have called in today and a replacement is on it's way.

What is the chances that I will get one with no bleeding.

Wow, that is absolutely brutal.

yap... VERY DISAPPOINTED. This is a serious defect.

I am hoping my next one will be perfect. But... I doubt it.

Yap... if the new replacement as problems as well... I am going to return them both.

Hey, when you get that Acer monitor check out its calibration at the below website. I see it has Crystalbrite technology and if it's anything like my Viewsonic's Xbrite technology you may find the white end of the scale shows no variation in the first three white squares on that monitor calbration site. I had to use ATI Tray Tools to calibrate my Viewsonic so that it was showing all gradations correctly. There was no way I could get variation showing in the first three white squares using the monitors contrast/brightness controls. XBrite is bright all right, too bright. Anyway, using that website you set contrast to the white end of the scale and brightness to the dark end of the scale. Once you've done that then photos will display better. Especially B&W photos as they will display the full tonal range. Well, to the best of an LCD's capability anyway. We all know that LCD's are not very good at displaying blacks. Maybe you know this already but I'm posting just incase you don't.
