I just got this monitor from Fry's yesterday. For those of you who worries about the backlight problem with this monitor. There is absolutely no backlight on this monitor. I will post a review soon.

I got it from a local retail store so I had to pay tax also. The total came out around $600. JR.com sent me an email they have a 215tw in stock now. It's at $529.99 with $20.83 shipping. I'm not sure if I should return this and get it from JR.com so I could save some few bucks.

This monitor looks beautiful. I've always loved Samsung monitors but they are just too expensive for me. :'(

Someone had posted yesterday that Best Buy now has them in their stores for $549.99. Nothing posted on the website though.

If you look at this monitor in the dark it has the same atrocious X pattern backlight of the gateeway. I'm returning it.

Not to be mean or anything, but... if you're trying to prove the absence of backlight bleed, the first step would be taking a picture without flash. The second would be taking it in a dark room. The third is a well-warmed up monitor. And the fourth is an showing an all-black screen with no tabs on the borders. I'm not sure if you've met any of these, but I appreciate the attempt. Would like to hear from you again.

Yes the pictures I posted were taken this morning. I'll try those steps you said tonight and see how the pictures come out. I used this monitor all day yesterday without turning it off (more than 12 hours for sure), and well, I couldn't see any backlight with my own naked eyes. Maybe I'm blind according to the other guy who says he saw backlight on this monitor. Anyways let see how the test comes out tonight.

Although I agree with you, there is absolutely no variations in the black in those pics. I bet it comes back with zero to very very little bleeding.
