After posting this in the Intel forum, thought I would come here for some more input. Currently I’m running a P4 2.6c at 2.9ghz on a Abit AI7 with 1GB of PC-2700 at 223mhz with a 3:2 multiplier and PSB:800. I’m wondering if switching over too some better RAM to try and get a better overclock and some more bandwidth would be worth the investment. This is the RAM that I’m looking at getting:

Would it be worth it to purchase this? Or would the performance increase not be worth the cost? I’m really trying to hold off on a new system until Windows Vista hits so just looking for a good temporary speed boost to my system. Or is there some other RAM I should be looking at getting for this system?

That link is broken.

Can you confirm that your memory is holding back your OC vs. your CPU just craps out at that speed?

Before I updated to the 3.4, I had a 2.6 in my comp.....you really should have no problem pushing it to fsb of 225 or 230 with the right memory at a 1:1 divider, just don't go over 1.6V Some good UTT or TCCD (BH-5 if you can find it) running at pc3500-3700 should do the trick. The 2.6 was an excellent OC'er. I ran mine at 3.0 24/7 until I replaced it and put it in my sis comp. I think you need better memory....make sure you have sufficent cooling for the memory.
