New game 'Spore' demonstration video

This was demoed at GDC2005, if I recall correctly, making it almost a year old. You've also been beaten by someone else who posted the same thing. Gotta love Digg:) (I saw the entry too;)).
 
first video over 5 minutes i've actually watched all of... very interesting. i've always been interested in how spore's turning out
 
At first I was like "Pft...what a shitty looking game"

Then it really started to pick up..."omgomgomgomg I WANT THIS NOW" type of dealie...

Seriously, that's an amazing looking game. I can't wait until it's released.
 
Saw this video quite a while ago, but I just watched it again, as stunned as the first time I saw it. Quite an amazing feat he's accomplished. Anyone know an estimated release date?

Very cool. Not a new concept but the important thing is it's executed very well. So I really do hope it turns out to be a great game.

Yeah this looks awesome, will definately jump on the bandwagon. Hooray for creative output in an era of dull sequels.
 
Looks exactly like i thought it would, with awesome added. its going to be borked because of that though :(
 
Thanks for posting about this one. I had not heard of it until today and now I can hardly wait. That game looks like one could spend months and months on it and never get bored (or quite possibly see the same things).

Will Wright is a Genius. The pictures you see of a man are actually an android he created, the real Will Wright is an alien superbrain that has evolved beyond a corporeal form.

He is supposed to show more of Spore at GDC06.

I am still creating my massive complex region in SC4 and that has been out how long now?

Will makes my kind of game.

BTW do u know how not to lose money on the early game?
 
oh i'd definitely buy that. in fact i can honestly say now that if it comes out with the same elements that have been displayed, we're talking very LONG last tetris-like level of gaming for the masses.

i mean honestly, can you find somebody who doesn't like or hasn't played tetris at some point in their life?

For a legit game: Do not build any utilities until your city is layed out. Your sims really do not need water, hospitals, police or schools. Only fire stations, garbage management, and power plants. Once the city is fully builts start adding the utilities one by one, the population will always rise to max capacity.

For a non legit game: Just get a cheat lot off simtropolis.com or soemthing, I use money park, its a 2x2 lot that gives you 20 grand a month income.

Its not that I cannot play a legit game, I have done so in the past... this time around I am going for a realistic replica city, more modeling a beautiful city rather than building a balenced economy etc...

Also, you will never get a huge city untill you start connecting cities in your region, keep building different sections and go back to the old ones to 'update' them


I have probably 1000 added buildings in my game... lol always backup your plugins folder and region folder when formatting, I have carried over my region through like 10 windows installations.
 
Well I just wached it so it's back up :D

I will definitly be buying this. It looks really cool :cool:


 
I hope they don't include a subscription fee to download other player's created content.
 
sorry about previous post lethal, i wasnt exactly in my right mind. But i really am excited for this game, and yes i honestly hope this wont be subscription based, cause all my money is tied up in Tuition, and beer.and that editor is fantastic, and the UFO is nothing short of genius.
