Is UCCC RAM good for DDR500 speeds @ 3-4-4-8?

Are there any other types of RAM sticks that can hit DDR500 @ 3-4-4-8?

Can someone recommend me a GOOD UCCC or other RAM set that can hit DDR500 @ 3-4-4-8 2GB set UNDER 180$?

Thanks.

gskill hz is the cheapest uccc thats binned for pc4000. there are other chips that can run tighter timings at pc4000, micron adn infineon, but they are out of your rice range. the gksill is 197 at the egg and you can get it for 170-175 used on the forums

Sorry, I want new. I don't mind 3-4-4-8 timings...someone please link me to some RAM that'll hit DDR500 @ 3-4-4-8 under 170$ 2x1GB?

Thanks.

Why not just ask for 2GB that runs 2 2 2 6 @ DDR600 for $80? LOL

For $170 you'd have to get some average PC3200 ram and hope it OCs to DDR500.

No, I am not specifically referring to PC4000 RAM. I am OK with PC3200 RAM that hits DDR500 around @ 3-4-4-8. I have a friend who just got 1GB of Corsair ValueSelect, which happened to have UCC, and he's overclocked his value RAM from DDR400 to DDR500 @ 3-4-4-8 @ 2.7v.

I believe he got lucky then. I DOUBT that alot of that Valu Select RAM does that, I'm sure it was a fluke. So $180 is MAXIMUM? If so I'll TRY to find some RAM in your range :/....

For something under $180, your going to get PC3200 and chance that it hits 250fsb at all. Up your budget to $200 and get the g.skill, and you get something guarenteed to hit 250fsb, and probably go well beyond it.

well said. 2gb of ram rated for 250mhz doesn't exist. 2gb of ram can be had for less, but the chances of 250mhz <100% ;)

however, i have my eye on crucial value again. i should try to get a stick or two just to see what happens. :p

i got a stick back in the beginning of last year that did 263mhz at 3-3-3

"Good luck with your search...2GB DDR500 for under $180?"

Hey! Did you actually bother reading my POST? I said I don't care exactly for PC4000 RAM...

Yes, but OC'ing RAM is hit and miss. Some sticks / Batches will beable to get that 50Mhz overclock, and some won't. Maybe not even at your timings.

Good Luck!

Isn't DDR500 = PC4000???

I'd definitely raise your budget to $200 and grab the Gskill

Yes, you'd be a dumbass not to pay $20 more and get guaranteed PC4000. Cough it up, it's worth it.

You're looking for DDR500(PC4000) speeds, even if you get DDR400(PC3200) RAM. And for $180 we're saying that getting PC3200 to hit DDR500(PC4000) is a shot in the dark, and that a smart person would just cash in a few bottles and cans and get the $197 RAM and be happy.

I'd bet his friend was using 2T. I had some Corsair CMX3200C2PT that would do it(ddr480 3-3-3-8 or ddr500 3-4-4-8) like it was made for it. Just at 2T. Got the new CMX4000PT (right around $200) and it does it at 1T. I know it doesn't make much difference but I think 20 bucks is worth 1T over 2T.

I agree with the above statements. It would be unbelieveably stupid to not put up the extra $20 for RAM that you know can do DDR500, and usually higher.
