How do I tell if my Mobo has SATA2?

How do I tell if my Mobo has SATA or SATA2? Before i buy a new HD.

keep in mind i have lost the box and manual for it during a move from apartments.

The HD im looking at is SATA2 , i dont want to buy it and then have it not work, thanks.
 
sata2 is backwards compatible with sata so it doesn't matter
 
All Amd NF4 chipset boards support Sata2. I am pretty sure.
