Hello im trying to figure out a problem with either my connection or setup.
My cable speeds are as follows>download over 4mb and upload 428kbs
My setup is a Motorola sb5120 modem then into a netgear wireless router,I have 2 pcs connected directly into router (without using wireless) '
When both pc are online playing games my pings climb to 500+ When one of us disconnect its fine 60 ping,It also doesnt matter who disconnects
I KNOW for sure both pc have NO spyware or viruses, I like to hear any solutions to what we both cant play online at same time, Even if im playing online and my son uses his webcam it bogs down my pc to the point of playing online impossible,

Do you use QoS at all? If so, disable it.

I went into the network connection and hit properties and the box was checked ,Is this where is disable it? Or go into msconfig and then services and disable there? Do you feel this is the problem or are you getting at the extra 20% the supposly gain?

Why disable QoS? I don't understand.

As far as the webcam, he's probably taking all your upstream bandwidth. Have him lower that down a little bit (there are settings in the webcam APP) first of all.

Now, maybe try updating your firmware on the router? You should be able to do what you're doing just fine even with the wireless mixed in. Maybe this game doesn't like port forwarding (if it has to) to two people? Is it only on that certain game?

Its most noticeable on that game but it isnt just releted to Unreal tournament 99,UT2004 isnt as bad, But Counterstrike source and UT99 are effected badly,and UT99 AND UT99 at same time is impossible to play ,
