Since I am so lazy, and you guys are full of knowledge, I seek your help. A co-worker wants me to help him build a system for him. He has given a bugdet of ~$700, lower is better as he has to get a monitor as well. Do not include a monitor though.

System uses:
Internet, word, email, but the most taxing application though will be WoW.

He is most likely going to have this machine for a few years, so what would you suggest. Only request is he wants a beige case.

Thanks,
Zoobaby

I'll sell him by dual Celeron 366 for $700 :D

Seriously though, as a starting point I would check out the low-end Celeron D's, you can get about 2ghz for under $100.

Yeah I know Cele D's are inexpensive, but he is leaning toward AMD64 though. I am just lazy and been out of the loop on the best values right now.

Awesome!! Exactly what I needed.

No problem. Like I said, I literally only spent 10 minutes looking it up, so you might be able to tweak it a bit and get a little more performance for the money if you shop around a bit.

But this system will spank WoW around left and right as-is. ;)

I did make some minor tweaks. Black drives in biege case are ugly. :) Again thanks!
