Its in the bottom left on this picture, near the IDE slots.

The computer boots fine but this thing displays "FF" while the computer is on, booted and running fine in Windows.

I probably just missed the part of the manual where its described, but a friend said its for monitoring the CPU temp, but I find nothing of the sort in the manual. Does anyone know what this actually does, and what it means?

Computer:
EPoX EP-NPA3+Ultra
Opteron 148
WD2500KS 250gb 16mb cache HDD
2x1gb Corsair XMS
256mb eVGA 7800GT N517-AX
450w Fortron PSU

It is not for monitoring temps, but for monitoring post codes. FF means that the last thing your bios(?) did was attempt to boot. Which if your in Windows right now it did succesfully. If there was some sort of hardware problem it would have spit out a different code, and it probably goes through several different numbers when you start your machine.

Oh, awesome. Thanks. I did notice that it went through a lot of different things (too fast to read) while booting up, then settled on FF.

Now.. will it always be on? It's really bright red, and distracts from the 3 blue LEDIONs on the mobo that look much better :)

the manual that came with your mobo will have a list of all the codes and what they mean... and yes it will always be on

My Abit board always displays FF once it starts loading windows. They are I believe standardized.

The thing is for error codes.

There was a mod for my old EPoX 8RDA+ v1.1 that would make it show temps. I don't know if that's available for the NPA3+.

but yeah, it just shows an error code if the PC wont post or boot, FF, on the evga NF41 anyways means normal boot status
