Anyway to copy-protect my bands songs on cd?

my band is making a cd and i would like a way to protect our cd;s from being burned.
freeware would be great

it's a waste of your time, I hate to break it to you, but that's the truth.

especially as a starting band, you should be glad if people rip your stuff ! :D :p
 
Honestly? Why bother? If someone buys your CD and wants to rip it to put on their iPod or whatever, let them.

At this point, as an indie band, you should be happy that anyone wants to "share" your music. It's free publicity.

If you were to implement some form of copy protection, you will only be seen as being as bad as Sony/R.I.A.A. and hated for it.
 
It's not worth it. No form of copy protection will stop someone who really wants to copy it. All it will do is annoy people who want to legitimately rip the cd.
 
Honestly, you're asking on the wrong forum, because we know the truth -- it's been said a few times already. There will always be a way around copy protection.
 
Let me just say these things:

Firstly, I can break copy protection on CDs simply by thinking about breaking it.

Secondly, if you aren't signed, or aren't big, you want to be throwing out as much of your music as you can. Your primary income is not from selling CDs, but from playing gigs. You want as many people as you can to listen to your music.Once you get signed, then your company will deal with copy protecting the CDs.

 
You can rip them in iTunes and use the AAC encoding, but as said...anything can be bypassed. At least it will protect it from casual ripping.
