BTW, Dell is selling this monitor for $1199 today and tomorrow.

It's a good deal because it comes with a free Pentium D 820 system.

man I am lost I was going to spend 2grand on my AMD x2 4400 2gig wth 7800gtx but I can get dual core intel 2.8 with 2gigs and the 7800gtx with a 2405fpw for $1800...just dont what to do :(...Yes I am an AMD Fan boy

were you building the amd rig yourself? if so go that route since dell's systems suck from all the bloatware they put on em. If you do go with the dell then at least have an extra copy of your preferred os and as soon as you get it reformat and do a fresh install, you'll be thankful later.

Plus their cases, power supplies, and motherboards tend to have a few proprietary connections.

Not so much anymore.

the real question is: can you e-bay off the Dell system for > $400?
I don't see why not.

really think you can get that much for it? (really wants to know)

Correction, he's trying to SELL it for 350 (plus 80 bucks shipping.)

With the number of people spamming ebay and CL with craptacular Dells, I'd rather wait for a low price to come around again.

check the bidders list partner. Up to $395 now. Now the monitor is down to $805. Becoming less of a hassle with each hour :)

You check it? Auction ended early. Probably pulled.

whole thing is over now anyway, at least as far as i can tell. the 'customize it' button brings you to a coupon error page. :-(

it ended up going for $480 before shipping charges. that puts the monitor down to $720. if you're willing to put in the work, seemed like a good deal to me.

Do all of you mean to tell me that you don't know someone who needs a computer, and you can't sell that box (+ everything but the monitor) for $650?

90% of the population would think that's a steal, especially when you lock it down for them, and become their support contact for ~a year. Not to mention everyone they refer to you, and you order Dell machines for them, lock 'em down, and get treated to $100 dinners and go home only when you can't drink anymore wine.

All you have to do is visit once a month to run a couple HJT scans (provided you config'd AV, WU, FW, and FF w/NoScript), and it'll be clean as a baby for as long as you want it to be.

If that's not worth a 2405 for $550, then accept my apologies.

No clue what I was seeing yesterday. I think it was the drugs they put in our morning coffee.

*runs to get a cup*

I'd have jumped on the deal for the monitor if Philly CL wasn't so saturated with Nigerian scammers trying to peddle Dell boxes (empty ones.)

I did this deal last time dell had it. They had a flaw in that PC and after all was said and done I had five PC's sent to me and none would work more then two hours. It was a hardware issue with that new build. Their were not able to fix it and would not send me any money back for the PC. It was return everything and get a full refund, or keep it all and have a dead PC.
I just wanted to keep the monitor and send the PC back, but they would not take it that way. I even took this up the chain of command to one of the U.S. Customer Service Executives, and still ended up having to send it all back.
This is for the same model PC as I got. Hope that finally got that resolved.

Posted on the 18th and it was two days only, meaning it was on sale the 18th and 19th. Today is the 20th, meaning, it is no longer on sale, as its day three.
Not to mention Dell coupons expire after a certain number of uses.
