Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

This game looks sweet. The only thing im worried about is in CGW they said only 32 players. If you ask me the bigger the battle/more people the more fun the game is. BF2 wouldn't be even half the fun it is now without the 64 player servers. I would really like to see a 128 player game. Now that would be awsome.

^^^^^You are correct the team said 24-32 players, but that is their maximum. They think thats the perfect number for a good and balanced match. They also said like Wolfenstein enemy Territory that they are not limiting anyone to a max of 32 they can if they want do 64 man servers.

Let's hope so. Just a few years ago this kind of games were science fiction. Now they are very much possible if the people just have enough cash for the hardware.

I believe they've been testing ET: QW with soon-coming video cards (X1900, 7900).

well i dont see why it wont run well on any card from the 6800/X800 generation and onwards. Hell I managed to play both Doom 3 and Quake 4 at full details at 1600x1200 with 4xAA.

I cant even run quake 4 my machine sucks so bad, but IIRC Quake Wars is gonna be something like max 32 player or 64 right? Thats gonna be a lot of shit going on in a large outdoor area. Frame rates are gonna suffer bigtime, but on the other side most players will run their games on the lowest settings to get the most fps. Just hope the game is as good as the original ET.

I am excited for this game as well, but sayings its BF2 with a way better engine. Come on now, the Doom III isn't better then the BF2 engine at all, in fact I would say the BF2 edges out the Doom III engine by a little. BF2 at least doesn't look plastic.

It's the art that makes it look plastic, not the engine.

I'm excited as hell for this game, the airpower looks amazing. Hopefully it'll live up to the current subtle hype it has.

By the way there is a new website out for all news and interviews on ET:QW http://www.totalquakewars.com/

With the direction Bf2 is heading, it shouldn't be that hard.

QFT.

Nice to see TBF2 created a site for Quakewars . . . they were the best BF2 News sites around . . .

I am going to get it but I am scared that my current PC wont be powerful enough to run it with good settings (medium-high) because Quake IV multi was crap on my system.

Too bad it won't be free like Enemy Territory.

I wont mind paying for it as ET has kept me busy since the demo and RTCW before that.

Just tried the site. Awesome!

I just know my machine will be begging for mercy when i play this game :(

Especially if this one was realtime.

if it lives up to any of the hype i'd be willing to pay even $100 for this game, way too bad ass to pass up!

i hated ET, not my kind of game, but i will definately be getting QW, as long as it turns out to be as good as we hope it is
