Not available on european websites at this time.
Also very disappointed by the price. Plus, the price policy in Euro is always similar to the price in USD, though the exchange rate is <1:1
Wait and see...

Give it a few months when all the videophiles send 3 back for a dead pixel or backlight bleeding. Not that I'd blame them for wanting a perfect display for $2200.

When the 2405fpw released it was what, 1199? You'd have to be a fool to pay that high a price for one, most people around here have been able to pick them up for around $750.

So, assuming there are as big of coupons for this baby (which there will be of course, just probably not the first month it is out) it will be easy to get a solid deal on it.

Can you inform a non-US resident on this whole coupon-thing? Can anyone get them over there or what? And from where? Sounds like a strange thing.

The coupons are almost US only.
I live in europe, and we rarely get coupons from DELL.
US coupons are not for use in europe.

I realize that, I just wanted to understand the whole thing.

How long do you think it will take when the first coupons will come out? I think I have patience to wait at least a liiiiiitle while for at least the first batch to be sold and returned for bad pixels n what not but then after that.....I wouldn't be able to help myself I would buy it no matter the price. :p
Buttttttt, if I am able to resist long enough for the first coupons how long do you think that might be? Plus, how much do you think it would be sold for? $1700.00? Maybe $1800.00??
That wouldn't be too bad right?

A 35% off coupon would bring it to around 1430...not bad. I'm sure before long there will be coupons.

Surprise to see dell US price higher than canada, in Canada list price is only $2000= around $1700US

i'm SURE there will be a deal like there was with the 2405s with like a 9100 PC..

i got my 2405 for 909 with a dimension 9100

Ok, now where on the site does it lists what cards are compatible with the monitor? I know they are selling some quadros and some nvidia 7800 GTXs but where is the official compatibility list?

Ok, here is why I'm asking.....
I have the nvidia 6800 gt and I know that technically because its dual link that it would support the monitor but because dell is recommending the 7800 gt or gtx does that mean I couldn't get away with using the 6800 gt at least temporarily?
Because, I do not want to buy the 7800 gtx or even the card thats coming next. I want to see if I can hold on until the summer when the nvidia cards based on the g80 chip will come out. Those puppies will be multi-core and sure to be hot hot hot! :D

If it's dual link it should suffice.. I mean it shouldn't be a mystery as to why they're pushing their latest and greatest wares over their older ones :)

Also, check in the 30" Apple Cinema Display on PC thread if you are worried about displaying 2560x1600 in DVI... I'm sure you'll be fine, though.

You could always drag your rig to an Apple store and try it with their 30 inch screen.. :D

They finally did something about those ugly stands. If i do get the 24" ill have to paint that stand black. i might just wait for the price of the 30" to come down considerably. it didn't say anything about hd capabilities. Like the gateway 21" . Anyone know a good site to check up on for dell coupons? :)

At least they are being upfront about needing a dual-link DVI port to use it @ 2560x1600. Good move in my opinion, I am also guessing that they didn't include more input types because it would just cause more confusion. I mean imagine something running 800x600 via analog RCA cable, it would just look like garbage. They should have included 2 x dual-link DVI connector though so you can use it with 2 sources at least.

when i call dell in a little bit i might have to see whats up .. if i could get it for like 1800 ill buy it lol

You can run 2560x1600 through VGA though, if your card supports it. It would have been nice so that people could use that until they upgrade to their next graphics card and do dual link then. I mean, analog input at native res isn't perfect, but it looks very good.

LOL....since I'm so finicky about purchases I just might do that! In fact, in manhattan there is a J&R computerworld with a apple 30 inch on display not too far from where I am. :p

best USA price I got from a rep now was $2000 shipped and no tax. Probelm is Canada sells at $2000 with a one yr. warranty. US ONLY sells with a 3 yr. warranty for $200 more. Dell USA said they can't sell as a one yr. warranty in the states.

damn if i could get 2000 shipped no tax i would buy it right now ..

how did u get them to drop it that much ..

the woman i spoke to wouldnt even give me free shipping

complain about the Canadian site showing 1 yr warranty at $1999 and US forcing to get 3 yr. for $200 more. Ask them to put your quote in for approval. I went through small business and I happen to have a tax exempt certificate on file. Quote came back approved.

The supplies are not indicating an immediate ship, (ie like 1/17) but that was the way the 2405 was at launch and it shipped the next day, so who knows.

Haha yeah because that worked wonderfully for canadians paying a 50-75% premium on just about everything else Dell has sold for the last 3 years vs. their american counterparts...

Good luck but I wouldn't hold my breath.. Dell can be nasty like that :(

How the hell did you get a tax exempt certificate?

Dell offers promotional codes that slashed prices by huge amounts. The code is a string of letters and number. You just enter the code during checkout and it cuts the price by a certain percentage. They were especially popular with the 2405FPW monitor. Some of these deals were offered through telephone sales. Typically, someone will start a thread on the forum with the code and then everyone can grab it.

i thought the 3007 was only dvi?

According to this Dell chat I'm talking to he claims that the warranty is good for three years. If there are any manufactures defects, you get a brand new monitor as opposed to a refurbished. I think he's lying though. I requested something in writing on Dell letterhead but he refuses to give it to me.

The guy I'm talking to is a fucking retard.

Does anyone know what this new "Advanced Exchange" is ?

I saw the Apple 30 inch display at Frys the other day. Jesus christ. It is like a WALL. It is enormous. If you can get this thing for like a few hundred off, then it would be well worth it.
