I just plugged in my G5 and it seems like the mouse is just I don't know its hard to explain. It slows down then speeds up. Its almost like it looses its laser. What the hell does this mean?

Wait its my damn mouse pad. What the hell. Does anyone else have a problem with the G5 and the Func 1030 rough side?

I myself dont have a G5, but have read of lots of people have this problem of the mosue 'skipping' or whatever on a rough surface.

But it still works fine on the smooth side?

So have you tried the fix yet?

Does it really make a difference? Becasue this trackig issue it stopping me from wanting to buy this mosue...

Yea it works. But I got another problem now. The damn thumb button doesn't work with Firefox or World of Warcraft. Trying to figure that out now.

The thumb button has to be implemented using the software that came with the mouse...it is simple, click on the logitech icon on the traybar, and then you will need to either setup the thumb button as a keyboard stroke, or as some other mouse func. If you need more help I can assist you, Viper

Viper16, I have a question on the software. How much CPU & memory does it use while running? I was thinking of getting this mouse & since I already run a few other programs in the background. Just affraid of getting a product with bloatware. Any help or insight would be awsome.

From what I saw in task manager it was 4.2 mb's ram usage and never changes, if it does run CPU usage it is very nominal...to be honest, I've never seen it use the CPU its probably like 1% or so. Hope that helps.

Dude you rock! Thanks for the info. I noticed your running a G15 after I posted. Is it also slim on the software & proformance? And should I be worried trying to run it on Windows 2003 Server Enterprise x64 Ed.?

It uses about 6 give or take a few mb's but you can turn options off that you dont want. The CPU Usage is very little like the mouse, you will never notice it. I know they have x64 drivers for it, so I am almost 90% positive it will run on 03 server, but I would email logitech for that just to be sure.

Hey Viper are you using the updated firmware? I don't know what my problem is with this mouse its just damn. Something isn't right. I can't find the right speed. Did you mess with any settings? Are you using a mouse pad?

Yeah I am using the updated firmware 1.1 yeah I have some custom sensitivities setup throught setpoint. I dont use a mouse pad, but I believe since the update alot more mouse pads are being able to be used. I've heard that that mouse pad works with the mouse, i think! Does it stutter? like its losing its trackinG?

I think its just too fast for me. I move the pointer speed to the left 2 from the middle and its too slow. Just can't find how my mx510 was setup. I didn't use any install discs with my mx510 when I had it.

On the mouse where is the orange led light at? is it closest to the bottom? press the "-" button, and it will reduce the sensitivity to the lowest prefabricated setting. if that is too fast you can go into the settings and make it slower, by clicking on the logitech icon in the traybar--->the chess piece icon--->then click Advanced Game settings at lower right of window----> then click on which setting you want the sensitivity to adust.
