DiamondMax 11 reviews anyone?

Maximum PC magazine recently had this drive and said it would not work with their nforce4 test system. Apparently it still has the same SATA-Nforce4 problems that the 9 and 10 series does. I have seen it listed online in many stores for a few months but it is always "NOT IN STOCK". I can only assume that this drive has still not been released yet - probably due to the nforce4 problem.

Easy fix: use older Forceware SATA drivers. 6.39 works fine.

Is there any way to contact them?

Contact Maximum PC Magazine? - www.maximumpc.com

Their benchmarks showed the Diamondmax 11 to be VERY VERY FAST - faster than the other drives they were comparing it to. But they still could not recommend the drive due to the nforce4 issues - they were able to read from the drive but not write to it!!!!

so using 6.39 solves the whole data corruption/drive disappearing issue? I have never heard that but it might be worth a try.

What is Maximum PC talking about? They could read from the drive but not write to it?

I guess I'm confused about this because I have a RAID0 SATA DiamondMax10 setup, and so far, knock on wood, its been a great setup. These three drives in RAID0 simply smoke. My cold boot to system responsive time is fantatic, considering all the stuff that I'm booting up, Media Center, multiple instances of Sql Server, Sql Reporting services, and others.

Are there any other references to this issue? I researched all the components in my system, and I never saw anyone mention this problem with the DiamonMax and NForce 4 before.

And I'm using the 6.82 Forceware drivers.

Happy New Year!

I think it depends on your drive's firmware and/or the revision. I have 2x DM10 right now, and I can't use any SATA drivers newer than 6.39, with the same board as you - A8N32. Same issue with my older board, DFI NF4 as well.
